  1. Not a chance. Lets see:

    14mm released in Feb. 2013
55-200mm due out in May 2013 (We’ll see)

2 lenses in the first 5 months of the year. Not bad in my opinion. But based on this, to think that we will see 4 more in the following 7 months…

That is a bit of optimistic marketing hype to sell more cameras now.

  2. Would sure love a more specific release date for the 56mm and 23mm like announced on the 55-200mm…..

  3. I doubt all of the lenses will be out by the end of the year, as they are already a half a year behind. All of the lenses were originally scheduled tba out by summer, which has been pushed back. I don’t mind as long as they are planning to introduce the new sensor in upgrades to the xe1 and x-pro1 by this summer. Please hurry up with those upgrades, Fuji, as I am getting a new camera before a vacation in the early fall, and would like it to be a Fuji x-E1s….

  4. Bummer that the 55-200 takes 62mm filters and not 58mm like the 18-55 🙁

Anyone notice how the 55-200 mysteriously turns into a 84-305mm in the 2nd screen grab?

    “70-200mm F4.0 $1200/800g VS 84-305mm F3.5-4.8 $699/580g”

That’s just plain deceit if you ask me… So let me fix that, Fuji:

    “70-200mm F4.0 $1120/756g VS 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 $699/580g”

Now why the ruse when the truth is quite favorable?

      1. Nah…I agree with Peter….it’s missleading. It’s a 55-200 lens…period. You don’t change the focal length of the lens because you put it on an APS-C sensor cus guess what….a 70-200 on a crop sensor becomes 105-300. Let’s compare apples to apples.

        1. What are you talking about?
You do know that the Fuji 35mm lens is equivalent 35*1.5 = 52.5mm equivalent on full frame.

Every single camera maker in the world does this.

      2. It is a ruse if they take the crop factor into account for their own lens, but not for the competitor.

If they wanted to compare the X-system to full-frame, they should have shown a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 as the benchmark.

        1. Are you on crack ?

It’s just a unit conversion. Like Imperial to Metric, or Dollars to Euro’s. The FoV is different on aps, that’s how it is. Not taking that into account is dead on ignorance. Using a value we can all relate to is simply convenient.

Some people just have to make everything a problem …

          1. Peter is right. They’re comparing the price of a fullframe lens to an APSC lens.

          2. I do not find it to be a ruse or otherwise misleading. But, I understand what the are saying. On my Canon 5D and my 7D the same EF lens has a different effective focal length.

    1. This is an internal marketing slide for their staff / distributors. They want to emphasize you get a larger focal range for a lower price.

Instead of making people do the calculation, they already multiplied the crop factor to make an easier apples to apples comparison. the real Focal length is already included at the top of the slide.

  5. I wonder how it will feel to use a lens (55-200) that’s twice as heavy as the body it is connected to. Also, will it also have a tripod mount?

  6. Did anyone notice that the 27mm lens isn’t listed as having an aperture ring? Early mock-ups had one, but the “R” in the lens name is gone, suggesting that it won’t be included.

  7. It makes sense to release a telephoto lens next. The wide angle range is partially covered with the 14mm now. Although I am hanging out for the wide zoom. I am quite happy for Fuji to do the maths for me when it comes to 35mm equivalence. It is very clear they are not trying to con us.

  8. Where’s the 89mm f/1.8 lens (Full-Frame 135mm)?? Although I like the idea of the XE-1, I won’t buy into a system that doesn’t have my most used lens.

  9. I want that 27mm pancake so bad. 55-200mm is nice too considering to get it. But then again th 35mm is also amazing, and that 14mm mhh what a dream… i have no idea what to get next

  10. 55-200 – disappointed. This was the lens that could have switched me from Nikon. Problems: 1) at that price point, it is not likely to have pro IQ; 2) doesn’t focus close enough, need at least .4x; 3) at that weight and from the picture, my guess is that it won’t have a tripod mount. Maybe Metabones will come out with a Nikon lens adapter.
