Canon files a new patent for an adapter for a Full Frame Mirrorless camera!

Egami spotted a new Canon patent describing a new adapter for a yet non existing Canon Full Frame Mirrorless camera. Of course we never know if and when a “patent-camera” will become a real thing. But for sure Canon will launch such a mirrorless system camera one day.

  1. It’s not a patent for a full frame mirrorless camera, but a patent describing an adapter of some sort. it has nothing to do with mirrorless cameras but describing more of a way of mounting lenses of different image circles on an existing camera body.

not to mention it’s a patent application, not a patent.

    1. It could be an adapter to mount Canon EF/EF-S lenses onto a future Canon mirrorless format that would more or make existing Canon lenses “native.”
