Well if you need one more proof that the Canon G1X mark II is real just look at that chinese brochure leaked at Kakaku.

Would sound quite nice with this lens but only if it had a new and much improved sensor which I can hope for but not expect I’m afraid.
There was nothing wrong with the sensor; the picture quality was excellent. The trouble was slow lens and slow AF.
I did not test it myself though but according to dxo it’s pretty weak considering today’s standards.
