New image of the Samsung NX 50-150mm lens. And NX1 as top model. And NXF1 is a 1 inch sensor camera.

Dpreview forum user Jerry shared these images of a Samsung presentation. These do show the new 50-150mm f/2.8 OIS and weather sealed lens. And you can also see a new High End NX1 model is on roadmap. There are no specs about these cameras yet but it’s easy to guess it will be announced in September at Photokina.

And the Korean site SLRclub spotted these NXF1 specs which do describe a 1 inch sensor NX mount camera! Quite a surprise!

  1. As nobody else besides Sony made another 1″ sense camera, so this one has potential. Everybody thought that other companies were going to follow Sony as the RX100 was well received and had a lot of success but even so, no one else adventured into that.

What the RX100 doesn’t have? I really wished the RX100 had a better aperture, it starts pretty well at f/1.8 but it goes down very fast and if I’m not mistakes it loses 1-full-stop before it reaches 35mm, and another one by 55mm. So, if you don’t use it wide open at 28mm, you’ll feel a bit cheated.

But unfortunately, by the lens size, unless it’s a fixed focal length it seems unlikely to be fast, but who knows?

    1. Nikon 1 series was the original 1″, with an Aptina sensor. Sony used it quite a bit later in the RX100. I think they caught onto the fact it is a good balanced sensor size, much better than a small point and shoot.

      1. But I was talking about 1″ in a compact fixed lens, not interchangeable. In a fixed compact I see much more afvantages to have a 1″ sensor than on a ILC.

    2. I´d like it to be a fixed (“F” meaning fixed?) zoom lens camera, brighter than Sony´s at the long end and wider at the wide end.

  2. 50-150mm f/2.8 Splash and dust proof OIS STM

    YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Anyone else very impressed with the NX lens road map??

    1. Of course, it looks perfect. I hope the lenses will be available soon. I’m also curious about the 300mm f/2.8, could be very good for wildlife photography.

      1. i agree, sport and wildlife Photography is where mirrorless cameras should be aiming i believe. with the speed of focus and shutter getting more and more impressive with each camera release, something SLRs have been stuck with.

they just need the lenses. i see Sony, Samsung and Fuji dominating the camera market within the next 5 years

    2. I prefer fast primes to ca zooms, so I’d much prefer to see 24/1.4, 35/1.4, 56/1.2 and a 135/2 in the roadmap.

      1. Samsungs lens line up consists of nearly all primed and all relatively fast. everyone would love to see some more f/1.4s but it looks like they are filling all their gaps first and a quality zoom (16-50mm and 50-150mm) was what was missing.

        Imagine this camera bag:
        NX30 (NX300 +viewfinder)
        NX 12-24 f4-5.6,
        NX 16-50 f2-2.8
        NX 50-150 f2.8

its not pocket-able but it would be damn nice hahaha

  3. Yes! I really love the way they are going!

But maybe it will be a 135mm insteafd of 150mm… Time will tell – soon or later

  4. The only way you will see a Samsung 1″ sensor is in a fixed prime or fixed zoom camera.

1″ from all the tests I’ve seen does not satisfy my needs but I would likely buy one if Samsung makes one. I like that Schneider glass heritage.

  5. Although I can´t read Korean, looking at the picture I observed that in the sixth row of the list of specifications it says 9 mm and in the last row it says 35 mm (parenthesis) and 24 mm.
Considering the crop factor for a 1″ sensor is 2.7, if multiply the sixth row number by the crop factor, it is: 9 *2.7=24.3
So I think the lens in this camera could be a fixed focal, fixed lens about 24 mm focal lenght. Interesting, but I´d rather prefer a compact zoom.

      1. 24 mm is better than 28 in my opinion. Maybe Samsung wants to follow the Sigma path and make others fixed focal NFX cameras (i.e. 40 mm and 80 mm), smaller than DP series. If correctly priced including viewfinder, could sell like hotcakes.
