  1. 1200 Euro for this Fuji camera, provided it has a decent video mode, is not too much. But still I´ll think of it again when they launch some “pancake” collapsible zooms.

  2. A new Nikon D7100 APS body can be had for 999 Euro, with superior reflex viewing. That’s awfully high, but it’s a well known a name brand which can command a premium price. The Fuji brand name is incapable of generating a premium aura, and will have a hard time justifying it launch price to all but the usual group of insiders.

Heck the Nikon Df is a fine camera by all reports, but its intro price point is nuts. Fuji is guaranteeing a niche market for this new camera by asking a too-high kickoff price. I think I like it, but waiting until holidays 2014 or 2015 to buy one at a reasonable price.

  3. So the Olympus 25mm f1.8 is nearly twice as much as was rumored and doesn’t appear to have the same feature that the 17mm has (the ring that pulls back and switches to manual focus). At this price-point it’s closer to the excellent Panasonic 25mm f1.4 and other than perhaps slightly faster auto-focus, I think it will be a hard-sell for a lot of consumers, including myself.

At 250 euros, it was a very interesting proposition, but at 400 it’s out of question. Grossly overpriced in my opinion.

  4. Gods, I hope they didn’t go cheap on us with the 25mm! If they did opt for a plastic lens (at that price) I will save up me shekels and spring for the CV 25mm f/.95!
