Full September 11 announcement rumor recap:

SR5 (two trusted source confirmed this): New Sony PXW-FS5 E-mount camcorder. S35 sensors. 4K internally, but 8 bit XAVC-L (note the L) 100 Mbit max. No HFR as far as I can tell, 30fps max in 4K. Looks like a baby FS7. Price will be between old FS700 and current FS7, likely $5,000-6,500 USD. Differentiation on FS7 is much better CODEC, higher frame rates (incl 60p 4K), option for RAW and ProRes, bigger build.
SR4 (one trusted source heard this): Sony will announce 7 new lenses (some in development and some for real). Among them we have new FE telephoto lens(es), fast portrait prime, 24-70mm GM and maybe some “Updated” A-mount lenses.
SR4 (two trusted source heard about this): A60000 successor to be announced between now and PhotoPlus. Note: The rumor is not SR5 because it happened once that Sony delayed the announcement of that camera. Don’t want to bring bad luck again 🙂
SR3 (one anonymous source): New A6000 successor to be announced on September 11.

  1. Sorry, but I refuse to believe with a price point of $5-6k it will be an 8-bit camera without very HFR. We’ll see soon!

  2. I am just surprised that with 1 hour to go, SAR has zero idea what 7 lenses are going to be announced. Well I guess we’ll find out soon enough. I hope for 85 or 135

  3. I hope for 135! I can’t get my Canon 135 f2 to focus well on any adapter, and it’s fine in manual for portraits, but I also use it for dog action photography. Some of that’s better in manual (as when they are running towards you and you focus on a place and press the shutter as they approach) but for some things decent AF is very useful. Also, great though it is, the Canon has a bit of loca wide open that’s sometimes a little ugly, and if a new design was anywhere near the Apo-Sonnar manual 135 it’s be a handy improvement. 85? If it’s bigger than BATIS because f1.4 I think I’ll stick with my BATIS order. What I’d really love is a couple of top slow primes: a 12mm f5.6 (to keep the size and price down and the quality up, and who needs speed at 12mm) and believe it or not an old-fashiomed 180mm f4 or f3.5 that is great wide open that would be a nice compact travel tele. No telezoom is going to be compact and good. But I’m not holding my breath for this!!!

  4. Launch A7S II on the heel of A7R II? That’ll create much more sibling product rivalry than a A7000 or A6100 would. Surprised by Sony’s way of doing things.

    1. just shows how strong the sales are. Now all the a7rii owners will drop their cameras for less! for the new thing! good thing my film camera still works.

      1. I have a NEX-7, I am perfectly happy with the picture quality, I would like faster focus and a pro-style body, 4k recording would be nice.

  5. Sony is now becoming a joke. Greta to have new cameras. But a camera need a lens. And it was said that maybe seven, yes seven lenses was coming today. Not a single new lens has been showed. This is a joke. And now. The A-Mount is officially dead. I dont belive a word about there will be a new A99 II.

    1. Sony never said they’d be releasing 7 lenses, this website did. Not trusting Sony because Sony Alpha Rumors has crappy sources is ridiculous.

  6. All i can say is that this website is bullshit !!!
    Rumor 3 / 4 / 5 ?? HA ! bullshit..

No A6100 No A 7000 and No new lenses !
And a A7sII that you say it never been released this year !!

  7. Haha deleting comments because they mock our SR-X sources? For a good 10 months now you have to revise these rumors. Ads, tons of affiliate links this is what this site is really about…

  8. But but but.. Where are the lenses? 🙁 I mean, come on Sony I know u are great at producing nice camera bodies (videographer will be thrilled by the video centric a7sii), everyone is still on honeymoon with a7rii, why a7sii now? 24 f/1.4, 135 f/2, 2.8 zooms are all needed to consolidate their spot as next generation’s pro choice.

On a side note.. All generation ii a7 are finally announced, does that mean the grand experiment is over and we can look forward to A9 somewhere around 2016? (Pray for a7rii spec + larger battery + dual SD card slot)
