It’s summertime (here in Europe) and soon a very hot rumor period will start. We will see plenty of new cameras (OMD, E, GX) and some new lenses. But in between I thought we could may try to do what my colleague Patrick from Fujirumors is doing for months now. Post your full stories and reviews!
If you have some long article you want to be posted on 43rumors send me your text and pictures on 43rumors@gmail.com. You can obviously link back to your blog to promote yourself and your work. I think that could be an interesting way for some of you to get known by the 43rumors community. Some topics I am interested in:
– Professional on field reviews. Unlike DxO or Dpreview what I want is to learn more about the real life use of cameras and lenses! No charts or pixel peeping needed 🙂
– Testing of little known lenses
– Funny stories around the use of MFT
– System comparison: Example, switching from DSLR to MFT system
One more thing: After a couple of years it’s about time to change the 43rumors design and to clean it up. From October one I will take some time off from my regular job to work on this. I will tell you more about that in a future post.
Thanks guys!

Sounds like a great initiative. There will always be people with stories to tell, and what better place to share them? 🙂
That’s a nice idea Admim! Something similar to Steve Huff’s Daily Inspiration, something I often enjoy reading. I hope this will not be an excuse for “trolls” to ruin the posts.
@MarcoSartoriPhoto
trolling is a sign the competition is hurting and confused 🙂
🙂 I know, and trolls are usually trying to gather attention, but sometimes they “ruin” posts. In Steve Huff’s blog you can now comment only when logged in, simply because of silly posters adding nothing but silly, if not offensive, comments. What I’d like to see and read are constructive critics, not simple “this sucks!”. Then of course there are those who are too blind to accept constructive critics, but that’s another story. 😉
You might expect plenty of sugar coated gossip from MarcoSartori, dropping names and over processed Images – can’t wait.
Did he say if he was accepted by Steve Huff? LOL
And you complain about me stalking you? How old are you really?
Well I complained because you were not KMA.
Now that you do, you can stalk me to your heart’s content if you remember to clean your tongue beforehand.
Besides the refurbished site will surely need a clown like you 🙂
I must say I enjoy looking at this site, usually most days, but lately the trolling and infighting is really getting out of hand, some constructive reviews etc would be a great thing to add to the site.
Since you are rethinking the site, I say its time to reconsider the camera database.
1) all specefic reviews could be regrouped and linked to the proper cameras or lenses
2) a top slider is not convenient anymore. A dedicated page would be better ( example : http://www.43rumors.com/gear
3) speaking of database, how about accessories?
4) The Sigma lenses are still not in there :p
I have made a review of the Tokina 300mm f/6.3 reflex lens:

Thanks frank. A few comments:
– the compactness of a mirror like this is first of all due to the optical path being folded, additionally the secondary mirror usually provides extra magnification, as do the refractive optics.
– on a camera like the e-m5, you can get is while focussing, making handheld use an option
– fixed aperture is rather the norm for mirror lenses

Thanks admin. Appreciate your ongoing work to keep us informed. Hopefully with the new features, there will be a greater sense of community.
Good Idea Admin, I look forward to seeing the offerings of the members of the 43 rumours brigade to go with the flickr site. Should be a good mornings viewing alongside Steve Huff.
Let’s not forget the Jaacx Distributing JK Kodak Pixpro S1 coming this quarter.
Hello 🙂
What about differences between MFT and DSLR cameras on lens distorsion correction in ACR?.
Why Panasonic and Olympus hasn’t the chance to select the lens used on a photography to correct barrel distorsion?.
Yes, i know Pana and Oly has autocorrection, but isn’t 100% reliable.
Same thing for vignetting.
I hope more people matters about all of this.
Thanks for readme :), and forgive my english, just in case 😉
Thank God its “fee free”! Or else I would not have been able to afford it after purchasing my already overpriced micro four turds camera.
I have no idea how to share stuff with admin so ill post it here
apparently the em5 does ISO randomly below 200, all the way down to 80. She is one of the mods or something and from what I can gather a working pro with m4/3s. She told other members to try it and they actually succeeded!!! (a member got ISO 160). If thats not a worthy rumor I dont know what is.

The last 2 years I have documented the Occupy Wall Street movement strictly with m43 and NEX and using toy lenses. Thanks for your site.
