On Saturday I received two new babies. One is a real baby (a daughter) and one is my own new Sony A7rII 🙂
The reason I am disclosing this personal event is that my mail box is exploding with messages I didn’t answer yet. And the next few days I will keep not answering most of your messages to spend more time with my newborn. So please excuse me for the next 1-2 weeks if I do not answer you. I will catch up by end of this month. Some sources also hinted to me a Sony announcement is not far away so I will still work on the rumor front to get some info about the new cameras and lenses.
First personal A7rII test: I used the A7rII for the first time on Saturday night when my baby was born. I will not post these images for obvious privacy reasons. But I want to say having a silent shutter was super! And so the ability to shoot 4K videos! I loved the new EVF and it made it very easy for me to manually focus with my favorite lens which is the [shoplink 39461 ebay]Canon FD 55mm f/1.2[/shoplink]. A personal thanks to Sony for creating a camera capable to shoot such beautiful images and videos.

I’m most disappointed to see that you have put your personal life before this page. How very dare you. 🙂 I’M JOKIING!!! Have a wonderful break and spend as much time with your new arrival. They grow so fast and change so quickly at such a young age so take 1000’s of photographs (better get more storage with such large files 😉 ) and treasure every moment you have. All the very best to your wife, your daughter and yourself.

Andrea, since you used MF with A7RII, any improvement in peaking accuracy? or does the increased magnification and EVF improvements helped in allowing the user to see which area is in focus or not more accurately?

Congratulations. Cool for you three! Take lots of pictures and video. I have made a movie every year since my kids were born and I think it is my legacy to them. They love watching them and I love seeing all the things that I would otherwise forget. They grow up super fast. Enjoy the time!

Congratulations, and interesting set of child’s play toys in the crib. I see you are starting her off right with a Sony a7RII. But the composition is so wrong. While maintaining privacy and while she is so pliable 95% of her could have been wrapped around the box with only a foot sticking out, and perhaps an arm draped over the top hugging her play toy. You need to take that…even if you don’t publish it!
