Serene Automation has just announced support for select Nikon Speedlights, off-camera, with full TTL. Plus, for a short time, you can use your Nikon Speedlight with your X-series camera for about the same price of a new Fujifilm Flash! Check out their website for details, including which SB units are supported.
In his review Mehrdad Samak-Abedi said “I have a very positive experience with the RoboSHOOTs. Everybody who looks for wireless TTL flash for their Fuji X-system should have a close look at the MX/RX line.” Most of us in the X community know and respect Mehrdad’s work and contributions, including his interview in Fujifilm Magazine here.
Be sure to take a look at Mehrdad ’s great review of the RoboSHOOT system at www.qimago.de

Just for convenience, there is also a german version with a bit more detail I think:

Nur damit ihr nicht den kompletten Artikel lest und dann am Ende erst darauf stoßt…
That’s good news – not being able to use stuff from one camera system with another is one of the greatest annoyances with photographic equipment ever (just imagine a world in which manufacturers could finally agree on compatible lens mounts, like Panasonic/Olympus and a few others did for MFT, or the movie world used to with PL mount).
I’m not sure how much a trigger can do to alleviate the shortcomings of current flash support on Fujifilm’s part. Lack of rear curtain sync, sub-par sync speeds (except on the X100 series of course), convoluted settings (like the coupling of silent mode and flash, red-eye preflash and JPEG/Raw settings, that aggravating “External Flash” setting on the X100 etc.) – these are all things that a trigger cannot solve.
Hi Peter,
We do expect Fujifilm will add more capabilities to their flash support and are ready for it. RoboSHOOT is capable of much more than is currently possible on the cameras. The system and at least X-T1 does support 2nd Curtain as well as slow synchro. So, as long as your camera has these, it should work perfectly with RoboSHOOT. RoboSHOOT also provides quick access to Flash Enable/Disable and provides some features not available on the camera, such as Flash Exposure Lock and Profile Bracketing. RoboSHOOT also employs a very fast radio which will accommodate faster sync speeds than are currently supported on the X-T1. Overall, we think Fuji has done a great job with their cameras which is why we support them! We look forward to continue to extend the capabilities of RoboSHOOT!

Hey John,
I’ve preordered the MX/RX20 pack, you got me interested in using my old, trusty SB900 with it.
Hopefully you have CE certification, because if not – there’s always a risk that a package sent to European Union (and some other countries aswell) will be returned to sender.
Best regards
Great to hear. I can tell you that once you try the SB900 you won’t go back! Even though it is quite large on the camera!
About CE, yes we have it along with RoHS. This was one of the big delays (and expenses!) releasing the product.
Best regards,
John
Haha John, I know, I’ve tried it on the X100, didn’t make any sense 🙂
That’s why I will try to use it off-camera! 🙂
Great to hear about the certifications.
Regards
Very good initiative!
– OK, this seems to be the first, (still not?) available, working solution, but isn’t it a bit overpriced? (Even more expensive than PocketWizard!)
– Support for Canon Speedlights?
– Support for Neewer=Meike MK320?
– When will it be available?
