  1. Now, can we just have one ordinary ver of the same lens for the guys in the street with their A7/s/r?

  2. We’re feeding that Max troll again? It’s great that he can download a tool from the Internet that spits out some numbers. Too bad he can’t download an understanding of what they mean…

    1. A whole site dedicated to comparing camera and lens systems, without a single image in it, says it all.

      1. Yes it does. Because looking at compressed down scaled photos of leaves does nothing to quantify actual results and data.

Besides there are Sony photos that are covered with CA, and color so bad that someone thought it was a b/w.

There are also Nikon photos of very high IQ.

          1. All those images seem to demonstrate is that you have still yet to learn how to focus or set the correct exposure (either that or you have purposely sabotaged them to fit your agenda).

It’s laughably sub-amateur and only serves to render your results invalid.

          2. Which one has “color so bad that someone thought it was a b/w”? CA is camera brand specific? A moving bird in your garden is a good target for a sharpness comparison? Where are your side-by-side comparisons? Oh c’mon, Wannabe-Diglloyd-Cicala.

  3. The guy was brutally honest and his overview paralleled that of at least one review I have read. Bottom line, it isn’t all that great.

    1. Your comment is a good example of confirmation bias. You expected it to be a bad lens, so what the reviewer said indicated to you that it was a bad lens.

    2. My impression of the review (Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G) was the exact opposite and I have absolutely no interest in this lens. Guess people see what they want to see and ignore the rest.

    3. … “Overall for what it can do and what for it costs, I think this PZ lens will prove really popular” … yup, the reviewer clearly doesn’t think this lens is all that great, smh.

  4. The man from Sony v Nikon has a relentless vendetta over anything Sony.

It begs the question: What has Sony ever done to him?

    1. yes it’s joke, how to compare with two differents lenses? Even if the 55mm is ou standing we know that the otus is the Champ… The guy can’t say about his firmware version…such a shame

      1. Because a reader conducted the same test and challenged the previous results with ‘this leaf – that leaf’ testing. Don’t forget that my test results have been confirmed by Jim Kasson.

  5. If Sony really wants to keep A mount, and yesterdays rumor is true then expect:
    36mp a7rii…soon…E mount
    50 ish mp a99ii September ish….A mount
    50 ish mp a9 soon after……E mount
I sort of expect a pixel shift high res mode on all 3.as well as 5 axis IBIS.
That release order would denenstrate a serious cmmitment to con

  6. Oh, wow, that Sony vs Nikon comparison was an incredible waste of time. What is exactly the point of that?

  7. WOW SAR Admin – you have some power. Most activity ever for one day at SonyVNikon. I am about to enter a phase of testing where I hammer on Nikon haptics which are not as good as Sony. Sony still has a place in user friendly and if they can fix the color issue, I for one am willing to give up resolution.

  8. That Otus vs 55 FE guy is an idiot.

Lenscore.org tested these two lenses on the same 200 megapixel sensor and cunclude that the $4000 Otus is 50% sharper than the $750 Sony lens. Well big ****** duh.

And those purple fringes he is seeing are not CA, that is bokeh. Sure the 55 FE transitions a bit too smoothly into unsharp areas but therefore renders very balanced images with a lot of tranquility. If you don’t like that you can just use the 50/2 Loxia instead. Or just make sure your subject is in focus, unlike this guy.
