  1. I don’t know how you calculate the price but €849 is on about 700€ without taxes (20%). It means on about 800$ (the same converted from yen) + US taxes.

    1. sorry. the source wrote X-T10 KIT and not BODY… this happens when you write record-time post during work

  2. 699 for body ..799 with 16-50 cc is the ideal price and my predicted price in earlier posts too..and its 40gms heavier (speculated in earlier post) than Xe2 so I think Fuji did not compromise on quality..I hope I won’t go wrong this time too just like 16mm lens

      1. Patrick, is there a XF 16-50 II?
Sorry, but I noticed you referred it in another post bellow as XC 16-50 II that I think is the real name. Therefore this indication here may be a typo.

        1. Yes, currently only available with the X-A2. It focuses much closer than the original 16-50, and has a nicer surface texture that looks a little less plastic.

        2. yes, it’s the XC… sorry guys, this post was full of errors since its start: I said price for X-T10 body, but it was for X-T10 kit, I made a wrong conversion dollar/euro, I omitted which lens it was, and now I said XF instead of XC… my friend Burn-Out is saying “Hello” again in my mind.

Keep patience: the lessons end June 16th… then my friend burn out should leave again 😉

  3. If it is $700 for the body (in the USA), then I am getting one as soon as they become available!!! 🙂

  4. Okay, now that you’ve got your 2nd SLR-styled body it’s time to bring out the X-Pro 2, Fuji!

    1. …and 3 month later X-3 for X-2 users who will never change it for this funny X-T10 🙂 that may compete only with X-M1.

          1. Don’t worry. I’m personally not in the market for a X-Pro, but it’s only logical that it’s either going to actually be an X-Pro, or none at all (meaning anything else would simply have a different name). So when the rumors say a X-Pro will be here tomorrow you can bet your ass it will have a corner HVF. ^.^

If there will ever be a higher X-T model that tops the current T1 in price point it would simply be something like a X-TP1, because that is what it then is. But that’s not going to happen imho. Now especially with X-T10 series available, a higher specced X-T2 at the same price point of the current X-T1 will suffice eventually. Maybe €/$100 more but that’s just inflation.

  5. For almost the same price i can find a x-e2 with the 18-55 kit lens. Why i should buy the x-t10?

      1. I’m speaking hypothetically. Now i’m happy with my x-pro1 but i was also thinking to buy in the future a x-e2 for its fastest autofocus and better evf.
This new x-t model seemed intresting, but at this price point i prefer the e1 with 18-55 than the t10 with the xc 16-55.
I also like more the rangefinder style.

        1. Then indeed the X-E2 is the better choice for you. At the current rumored MSRP, compared to the discounted X-E2.

        2. If you already have the Pro1 I assume you already have some XF lenses, so why worry about the kit zooms at all? If what you’re after is faster AF and a better EVF then the T10 has you covered, or better yet, pick up a second hand T1. If the rangefinder-look-a-like styling is important to you, remember that the Pro2 is on its way.

    1. Faster AF (probably). Electronic shutter option. Related to that, max shutter speed of 1/32000 vs 1/4000. Mode dial. Two assignable control dials versus one. Overall faster operation (probably).

Combined, those are probably enough incremental improvements for some to justify paying a little more.

    2. I bet it will feature the same AF system that T1 will get in late June. Fuji wants the few that can’t wait til late June, to just buy T10 for AF system. That AF system will leave XE2 in the dust.

    1. I’ll be surprised if the price on the E2 doesn’t drop and I won’t be surprised if production of the E2 ceases entirely. Certainly there won’t be much reason for brick-and-mortar stores to keep them in stock. (Not that many non-online shops keep E2s on the shelves to begin with; the X100 and T1 are the only Fuji cameras that are really shifting many units and stores don’t actually make much money off of them anyway.)

I’m sure some people will be horrified at this suggestion, but this is basically the E2-killer. Same image quality, tilty screen and faster AF. Styling does count for something, and some people will cling to the RF-style design forever, but as a commercial product, it doesn’t make much sense to keep the E2 on store shelves when the T10 is, from a technical and objective standpoint, a better unit at (hopefully) a similar price.

  6. 850.- for the X-T10 kit is way too high. You get an 16MP APS-C sensor with hopefully an AF system that matches the ones rom entry level DSLRs (24MP though) and worse viewfinder (not the same as in X-T1).

So again Fuji is too expensive vs. competition of you look at AF, MP and viewfinder.

When do they finally realize this? Because of this, most Fuji owners I know buy only at promotions or official price drops or stick with their DSLR for the time beeing.

  7. Mhm, 849 €. Was this the starting price of the A6000 or was it 799 €? I think its a fair price. It has better build quality, better EVF, more buttons and dials than the A6000 and the Fujinon 16-50 II is the better kit lens than the Sony 16-50.
But 799 € simply looks better in this camera segment with so much competition.

    1. starting price of A6000 was €649.- with cheap kit lens. So 200€ cheaper than the xt10 Kit price and the A6000 has 24MP, excellent AF and good viewfinder.

  8. I have just sold my Canon 60D kit to enter the X community :D… I was pretty sure that the X-E2 was the camera for me, until this rumour came out. To me it seems that the X-E2 and X-T10 are the same, but the 18-55 is a better lens than the 16-50, isn’t it? I have a budget of $1500 and was planning to buy the XE2 with 18-55 + 35mm… What do you think? Does the XT10 changes the game?

    1. Yes, the 18-55 is the better lens of the two. But there will most likely also be a kit of X-T10 with 18-55 so you really should let features, price and form factor make the choice for you, not the kit lens.
I’d probably go for the X-T10 if it’s not much more expensive since it will have much better AF even though I prefer the X-E2 form factor.

The X-T10 changes the game even if you buy the X-E2 because its price (of the X-E2) will probably take a nose dive (new and especially used). So wait for the X-T10, compare the two and if you prefer the X-E2 by that time it will be a real bargain.

  9. It’ll be cheaper in Aus to buy a grey-market X-T1 :

Once the X-T10 settles in I guess you’ll find it cheaper again.
