Thanks to one of our top trusted sources, we all can now take a look at the Silver Fujiilm X-T10. You can see the black version here (from a different angle).
My fingers are ready for a live blogging session on May 18, the rumored announcement day of the X-T10. I guess it will happen, as usual, early in the morning London Time (around midnight in NY)… don’t leave me alone here on FR on May 18 😉
cheers,

X-30 sibling…
I do find the top plate too high but apart from that it’s quite classic. Looks very close to the FM2 design we had always been hoping Nikon would remake as a DSLR.
I think in real life it will look good despite the high top plate. Makes the whole camera appear rather square but this perspective looks better than the first one (black version).
Still can’t see a pop-up flash though.
when the flash is popped out, you won’t be able to read FUJIFILM anymore
Your sources have been great and I believe it. It’s just that I can’t see any seam whatsoever. I guess we’ll see it soon with high resolution shots…
I don’t see how it can get the clearance not to have a great big lens shadow if it just pops up vertically and if it hinges back then the hotshoe plate will hit you in the face if you’re using the viewfinder. Hope to see some more photos soon, but a X-T1 style mini-flash gun would make far more sense.
Because the flash that secretly pops out the bottom is blinding? 😛
Yes the top plate looks 0.5cm too high which makes it look a bit awkward… i waa hoping the previous image was slightly distorted, but it does seem that this is slightly out ot proportion.
Sort of reminds me of a 1970’s Leica SL …
well done Fuji… But please don’t kill the x-e line !
I don’t think they will.
The e-line is for those that like the x-pro rangefinder style while this ‘new’ x-t10 will be aimed to those that like SLR styled camera’s.
Basically the X-10 is a rebadged X-E2.
x-e2 is supposedly last of the series. It won’t make much sense to have two similar cameras at same price point. But if given an option I will go with x-e lineup than this
I just dont get it why XE2 is last in the series…the price of XE2 body only when introduced is 1000$ now currently available for 799$…this camera with lens might be priced max 750$.. dont know what price point you are talking.. XE2 is premier camera than XT10… XT10 is mere replacement of XM1 which flopped big time. the iteration for XE2 is only possible with introduction of X Pro 2…infact dishing/ “upgrading” a new camera every year is a work of sony not fuji…..
`This camera is going to be priced at $700 (Body Only) That means with 18-55 it’ll cost around 1000-1100. I do think ending x-e line will be a pretty bad move but these are just rumors, nothing”s final till Fuji announces it.
X-Pro2 will definitely launch when it’s ready so they are surely not stopping with Rangefinder style cameras, there’s still hope for x-e3 but Fuji sold a lot many x-t1s than they did x-e2 so maybe that could be the thought behind it.
But as i said, Fuji has not made anything official and hence you should take the rumor of x-e lineup ending with a grain of salt.
X-Pro2 will be the king of that form factor. Expect it to be X-E-like in size.
X-T’s are now the companion to the X-Pro premium line.
It’s the new fujica st-801
In silver i found it looks like the old Canon FTB, tall and flat, but gorgeous!
Very X-30-ish. So some are gonna hate it and others gonna love it.
It’s odd how large the top metallic section is compared to the X-T1.
Remove the hump, please. Where’s X-E3?
You’re looking at it.
The silver section is too tall. Nothing that some masking tape and black paint can’t fix!
No X-series camera has managed to equal the beauty of the first one:

Yep love my back edition X100!
I just think this looks much better proportionally (a very quick edit). The top plate just seems to sit awkwardly high. Maybe once we see it properly it will look better!
I still think it looks out of proportion which is why people are calling it ugly. The top plate is too high resulting in an awkward square shape. I think this looks much nicer 🙂 Maybe once we see it for real it will look better. Never the less, this looks like it will be my next camera.
Agree, your version looks much better imo.
It just does not look like a photograph, maybe a rendering…
Get a decent handgrip, please!
Or modern photographers finally learn to properly support their cameras. Less grip is ergonomically better.
A broomstick is ergonomically better than an armchair?
I’m not sure I understand your comparison Trenton…
I’m not sure I understand your logic either.
Okay, pretty easy actually. When you add a large grip to the camera you will automatically start to carry more or most of the weight with the right hand (whether you want it or not). Since that puts a lot more strain on your right wrist than supporting the camera under the lens with your left hand that’s not a good thing. Also most grips only fit a certain hand size really well which is also not that great. Supporting with the left hand also helps with reducing camera shake.
It’s better to have no grip and in the rare situation where one-handed shooting is needed you add an additional grip like the MHG-XT. Your wrist will thank you especially if you ever use large lenses. Coming from a physiotherapist.
I have no problem holding and shooting a Canon 1D series cameras with the 70-200/2.8 IS attached with just my right hand. Now that’s an ergonomic grip.
However, holding a “soap bar” inspired cameras (read – Leicas and X100 series) hurts my fingertips pretty badly after just 5-6 hours of shooting.
I know how to hold any camera, I’ve started with rangefinders in the 70s. From the ergonomics standpoint, “bricks” suck. You need to add something to hold on to (in case of my X100, the regular leather case and a thumb grip solved the problem; however, I hated my X-T1’s grip until I added a large MHG-XT to it).
Grab am OM-D E-M1, and you’ll understand what a good grip means.
You didn’t get my point at all and you obviously don’t know how to hold any camera *properly*. The best grip isn’t even called that, it’s called “base plate and lens”.
You obviously have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Yes, quite obviously.
It’s a camera, not a shovel!
I have to agree with the previous comments. Less grip is better, at least for the way I hold a camera. The X-T1 grip is on the border of too big for my taste.
if you’re having trouble wrapping your fingers around the right side of the body, photography should not be your main concern…
The silver version doesn’t look bad. But I was hoping for a bigger grip and a custom button on the front.
i like the x-t1 design more.
The black version will look a lot better. Hopefully. More importantly, what will be the UI? Like an X-M1 or like an x-T1? It’s looking like X-M1 here.
To be honest I don’t like the Silver Graphite X-T1 either; But I am probably one of the odd ones.
Plus one here. I don’t think (dull) graphite was a compelling choice.
I googled for it as I could not remember it’s shape and it was even more weird looking (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JpNnzXrfT4)
Someone compared it to the Canon FTB and it is a tab closer.
I’m looking at a real Canon FT right now, it’s the heaviest SLR that i own out of many. 1kg with standard 50/1.8 on it. I love the unique look for it’s history, but the later SLR’s had much lower ‘shoulders’ and those are definitely the best looking kind. Didn’t think the old heavy(-looking) kind would be coming back! 😉

On that image it reminds me of a Pentax K1000, which was not the best looking camera ever but proven to be very practical and reliable. Hoping to see the same qualities with X-T10.
Id actually like to see an EVF-less camera with T1-like capabilities. The do like Leica and resell the excellent Olympus EVF as an add-on.
I’ll buy anything with “Fuji” and “X” in the name. Besides that, this silver X-T10 looks fine to me. My former camera, the Nikon D610, that’s an ugly one.
bubbly nikon… agree.
I’m warming up to this silver version. I think Fuji wanted to differentiate it from the X-T1, and gave it this classic straight edge design. Visually, a little more square, perhaps slightly narrower…await dimensions and other views.
It’s ugly! Keep the x-e line and make it better.
It’s funny, but my first reaction was that it wasn’t so good, but looking at it again and in silver and it’s really grown on me.
I was thinking that too, mixed with a bit of Holga.
Looks fine to me, not sure where all the hate is coming from. Not buying it, though… still holding out for an X-Pro2.
I cannot decide if they were inspired by a Holga or by a Praktica. Too bad they did not keep the form factor of the XE.
Personally I don’t like the command dial on the front in black so much. I think it detracts from the appearance with the gold myself. Other than that the design looks good to me.
The more ugly the less likely to be stolen. PS. I like the silver and boxy look. Just cover with pink spray paint and Hello Kitty stickers anyway so people think you are using a toy camera for good street pics.
I just dont get it why some say XE2 is last in the series. [ XE 1/2 is most success ful fuji before XT1] ..the price of XE2 body only when introduced is 1000$ now currently available for 799$…this camera with lens might be priced max 750$.. dont know why people event want XE3 to be this.. XE2 is premier camera than XT10… XT10 is mere replacement of XM1 which flopped big time. the iteration for XE2 is only possible with introduction of X Pro 2…infact dishing/ “upgrading” a new camera every year is a work of sony not fuji…..i expect X-E3 ..6 to 7months after release of X pro2..and we dont know when XPRO2 will release 🙁
By the way picture of camera is ugly..but I still wont believe it until I see it in store. X30 which I thought ugliest…is actually good not pretty when I saw in the store ..photo/rendering what ever it is of XT10 is uglybut rendering of @nzswedespeed:disqus is actually good…my opinion might change when I see this store..but for now ..its only fuji camera which is ugly..
By the way which is most beautiful fuji camera.. to me X100 is best and X20 comes close…then XPRO, XT1, XE1/2
No built-in flash, huh? How is it better than x-e2?
built in flash for sure… don’t worry 🙂
Where is the built-in flash based on this pic ? I don’t see any…
well, actually you can’t see it, because it’s built-in the “pentaprism”. You just see it when it’s popped out. That’s the secret 😉
And the the picture shows it with XF 18-55, while specs said it will be kitted with XC 16-50? Which is right?
You missed a rumor… on May 5th I said there will be 2 kit version, one with 18-55 and one with 16-50: http://www.fujirumors.com/fujifilm-x-t10-body-price-between-700-and-800-kit-with-16-50-or-18-55-no-pasm-dial-coming-may-18th/
Probably in different markets then. What do you think?
Different Makets? Could be. But I think it will be offered with these two options worldwide
too much that silver top part, doesnt look aesthetic or balanced. Only full silver lenses would make this look ok
but I’m still buying this if it is 700$body only or X-Pro2 doesnt come till this year and if its over 1500$
You may be right. Like the X30, (although I like the looks of this more)there may be too much top plate showing, at least according to my design sensibilities. Maybe others will prefer it.
Comparing to my X-E1, this camera looks quite a bit smaller and of similar height, with just the fake pentaprism jump adding a little bit of height to the center. I hope a shot without a lens mounted shows up for easier size comparisons between bodies.
I like how the silver top plate is proportionally larger than the bottom one. It reminds me of my old Nikon FM2. But I can’t stress enough how much I would like to see it with black painted brass plates. The few extra grams of weight would be so worth it. The grip on the X-T10 is generous compared to the FM2’s, which is inexistent and that never bothered me for a second.
‘How it works’ is more important than ‘how it looks’, unless a camera really is just male jewellery…
Here’s a quick and dirty comparison of the XT10 (red outline) to the X-E2 (blue outline), using the hot shoe and strap lugs for scale. Definitely a little smaller than the X-E series, height is very similar with just the pentaprism hump adding 1cm or less in height to the middle.
Interesting, my result seems to be about the same. (back view)
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii301/moviemonster6/Fuji-outline-xt10_zpso6hsxmpk.png
That’s very interesting, especially seeing the silver bit of the xe2 vs the silver bit of the xt10
I am making an assumption here, X-E3 will come after the XPRO-2 comes out. X-E3 will have the new sensor, etc.. It only makes sense. There is nothing to gain here for the X-E3 to come out now, no new advances in sensor, etc..
People, why do you think this is ugly?
Just because it’s square?
Nobody pointed at a Leica calling it ugly. It’s minimalistic.
I am with Fuji on this one, and camera look is a big factor in my purchase decisions. Look and build quality. I hope it’s metal, not silver paint over plastic frame.
Looks like it should say MTL-5B rather than XT-10.
the reason why it got higher top plate might be for the black part to look more rectangular, which resembles classic film cameras. I much more prefer this to the design of x-t1
Excepting the hump, in a way it really reminds me of the Instax mini 90 neo classic.
Looks like Fuji took a look into it´s own archive, for me the X-T10 design looks very similar to the old Fujica ST801 or ST901
I really wish they come out with a weather-resistant X100T.
If its an all metal body with the similar/ improved functions to the XE2 im all for it.
I love the XE2 but it does feel too plastic especially after using xpro1 or x100s. XT10 would be a solid decision if you were buying into the system.
They are equally important.
You are holding it, it has to feel right as well.
It looks nice to me!
There are plenty of people who will prefer this control setup over that of the X-T1(I am not one though).
Pair it with a couple of small lenses like the 27mm, 18mm or upcoming 35mm R, and go out shooting!
I’m excited to see how good the autofocus is, along with the 4.0 update for the XT1.
Hopefully it uses the EVF from the X100T, rather than the XE-2 EVF.
The design is nice, but at that price… Even cheaper cameras from other brands are already using Sony’s excellent 24MP sensor… Not saying 16MP is not enough but if the 24MP sensor is better in term of noise, DR, etc, why not?
I know what you mean, but that would completely cannibalise xt1 sales. The xpro2 will feature a new sensor. Apparently they had difficulties putting the xtrans on a new sensor. This camera is designed to be cheaper and is using existing parts to help reduce the price
That’s what I thought too. I need a second body but I don’t want to buy another X-T1. It’s too expensive for what it is in mid 2015. Fuji should just cut the cr4p and use the latest sensor in the new products.
and also 24mp vs 16mp means 1/3 bigger files – needing 1/3 faster computer, 1/3 bigger sd cards, hard drive space … and also faster minimum shutter speed to be sure to not have micro movements blurring the image in my eyes the other benefits would have to be VERY substantial to make me forget all these annoying points (not to say “issue”)
and when I say 1/3 more it is for lack of more precise measures chances are it would be more
Don’t forget it’s also going to be slightly although maybe not much for most to notice, noisier IQ in low light and/or higher ISO.
I have never tested that sensor, so I can’t tell if the improvement in the sensor itself & surrounding electronics would compensate (or not) for the probable loss of IQ. But you are probably right
Didn’t that play part of what the A7s went with a 12MP sensor?
quite possibly
D5500 is a good example of how good the current 24MP Sony APS sensor is. I find the noise performance very good. Fuji applies heavy NR even in RAW so it looks cleaner.
I often wonder how much of this though is more of signal processing by the camera’s processor rather than the sensor itself. Of course, though I expect sensor noise issues to improve with tech.
It amazed me when I was shooting with both a D2Hs and a D2Xs how terrible the noise was with the D2Xs above ISO400 compared to how the D2Hs was.
Really? Size? Faster? You have no idea what you’re talking about. You think Fuji’s Xtrans RAW is easy to process? No. It has more complex algorithm to start with. I have several RAW converters (LR, C1 pro8, Photo ninja, and Iridient). They open 20MP and 24MP raw faster than Fuji’s. Have you really compared Fuji’s lossless RAW size? It’s more than 32MB – I have no problem, it’s a good thing, but have you seen CAnon 6D or Nikon D750’s raw size? LOL. PS: CPU, RAM and HDD (even SSD) are getting cheaper all the time.
I love it when people jump at my throat instead of having a civilised conversation.
When and where did I say that Fuji Xtrans are easy to process ? they aren’t ? Did I complained about it no I pointed a fact. But this went way above your head apparently.
You are making the point for me: if a lossless raw size for a RAF is around 32MB for a 16MP sensor, one can reasonnably expect a 48MB file for a 24Mp sensor – and yes the algorithm is complex and slow. If you are so interested and clever I suggest you download the source code for DCRaw (at http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/dcraw.c) and you’ll quickly see how it works.
And if you have any idea of what happens inside your favorite raw converter – in memory a file needs around about 4 times the file size. See how many peole sold complained about the added size & time needed.
So yeah, LOL yourself.
and btw CPU RAM and HDD are NOT getting cheaper they have been steadly the contrary over the past 18 months or so. (Sorry Mr Curator – That’s part of my day job)
It’s just marginally better, pretty much field irrelevant. There hasn’t been a revolution in high ISO performance since the new generation of Sony sensors (ie D7000 16mpx sensor) came out. 1/3 stop tops. So if resolution is not that important, don’t worry about it that much…
you’re right , not far off
Definitely cheaper-looking than the T1, but okay, sure. Could be much worse. Matches the E2, so price it the same and I’m on board.
Now all we need is the kit pricing. The xc lens is normally bundled for $100 more, so maybe the xf will be bundled for us$1000?
It’s not ugly. It’s what everyone expects the X-T1 to look like in the first place; a replica of Fujifilm’s old slr.. I’d say this looks exactly like the Fujica ST801 🙂
And that too had the top plate too high.. I liked it since the first image.. 🙂 cheers!
Amazing the difference in comments from the debut leaked image to this one. I agree, very handsome in comparison to the X-T1 (which is quite a randomly-designed thing).
I’ll tell you why they didn’t keep the E form factor in a T product. Here’s why:
It’s not an E product.
Thanks for your insight. Good we can rely on marketing experts.
Ok I have to say, saw this second time just now, first time yesterday. This does not look now as bad as i saw it first time 🙂 , but not percet either. We have to see real life hands-on-pictures before judging
Looks like the X-t1 grip ain’t gonna fit the X-10. What a pity. Not going to buy this X-T10 now. I’ll go for a 2nd hand X-t1
Only I think it looks miserable comparing to X-T1?
Seems almost OMD EM5 MKII size. Not a bad thing.
