  1. Wow – not sure why you posted this.

Although he’s well known in lighting accessories, the piece is poorly shot (overdriven audio FTW!), he seems to know little about mirror-less in general, and it mostly comes over as a paid advertising piece for Sony. Poor.

    1. The bit about sharing is also largely wrong.

Many manufs experiment in the area. If CaNikon and Sony is all one has ever seen, the statement might seem true, but for example Pana and especially Samsung do quite a lot about the sharing. (And let’s not forget: literally all new cameras support Eye-Fi cards.)

The general problem with the image sharing services is that they come and go constantly. Or their APIs change and the camera’s application becomes unusable. Panasonic tries to do it with their own cloud service, which can be then connected to the other sharing sites. But the problem is that only few of sharing sites are supported.

IMO the sharing would become ubiquitous only when apps for the cameras become ubiquitous and sharing site providers would be able to implement and provide the support directly to the photographers.

Otherwise, it is funny how within only two year period photogs have changed the tune. First time Pana presented connected camera with upload function, there was a sh@tstorm that they are ruining photography and should go back making microwaves and vacuums. Now? Everybody’s all over it. Yet arrogant that lots of it is already implemented by other camera mfs. (E.g. Samsung had FB upload – for both stills and video – for a long time, at least since the NX200.)
