Really, some people still care about DXo review?
X-E2 w/ bigger/better sensor that includes a 18-55mm f/2.8-4 OIS lens. Same price. No tax in majority of US. Yes, blk and silver options available (than just the boring black).
Of course, E-M1 gets kudos for 5-AXIS IBIS and 4/3rd lens compatibility (for those that currently own them).
Pick your poison.
(Stereo)tipically FT2 rumor.
problem with fuji is that they use leather in the camera’s.
I’m allergic 🙁
then again, olympus is a lot faster and i like the usage of olympus 🙂
It is not real leather. New x-e2 should be very fast.
Mmm, I think people who are interested in the Fuji XE2 are already at the Fujirumors site. You must be lost?
its probably the fuji guys up to their old tricks. posting propaganda on competing blogs. billy is so f-in hot right now i want to have his babies
billy who?
just youtube “fuji guys” & make sure you wash yourself afterwords
when is this thing going down in price? I am counting on the “Sony effect” to save some bucks..
I own a E-M1 also FF gear and also want a Fuji and might want a new sony 🙂 I am a photographer for a living and enjoy cameras 🙂
all goes well together for pros cons of each one why do so many have to be one or the other and why does the M4/3 crowd have to hate the others and vice versa ? its so so so so childish !
if I had Ferraris I would also want Porsche and maybe some other fun cars
I used to own SUV Pickup and sports car and family sedan all have a purpose in live just like cameras 🙂
I am waiting for the new Fuji Pro 🙂 very excited and hope they get the focus a bit quicker and the hybrid viewfinder working a bit better would be all over that for a great camera
Anyone know how to check where new shipments of E-M1 will be going? I ordered from Adorama last week, but need the camera within 3 weeks, I am without a camera now.
Contrary to ckmaui I am getting disgusted by cameras. Gear centric discussion clogs my imagination and photographic project.
I believe with others that the less gear you have the more your art will rise, unless your project requires specialised gear – but then it would rather be more like science.
Photography for some is like lay meditation, it is about your interaction with the field than adding arbitrary effects. It’s not like decoration as many feeble minds believe.
So it’s good to have a camera that you know well and serves you faithfully. The rest happens in what you have between your ears 🙂
Upgrading every time a new camera is released is indeed dumb. Invest in lenses. They don’t depreciate as much, and they make a much bigger difference than any incremental improvement in AF speed, sensor IQ, image stabilization, shutter speed, or EVF technology. Better yet, save your money so you can retire early. You’ll then have all the time in the world to enjoy your hobby!
Upgrading whenever a new camera (or computer, phone, whatever) is only “indeed dumb” if you can’t afford it. For those who have their finances in order and a secure retirement there’s nothing wrong with what some people might think is throwing money around…it’s not…for some constant upgrading is fun, and IS the hobby. Photography, like travel and many other rewarding hobbies, is not for peasants.
You are making rather offensive implications about the user’s social status. Is it normal in a vulgar company, such as one you may frequent? LOL
There’s another good reason to avoid frequent changes. Features and menus have become so complex – at least in Oympus – that it might take weeks or months before one conquer’s full control of a camera.
What a loss of time! The point as made on the.me about the new Sonys. They shed the NEX menu system for a more rational menu system, but then one has to learn everything again.
Olympus doesn’t change much but some features are nested so deep in the menus, that one wonders if they are useful at all. Except some pros, one doesn’t live in a studio after all.
Instead Fuji commands respect for keeping things simple and for upgrading old cameras. It is in harmony with the spirit of photography, and real lide shooting.
Absolutely not. I was only countering the adjective of “dumb” being applied to those who upgrade regularly, whether needed or not. That was a rather broad and insulting generalization. I just offered another point of view, and it made no comment on social status as anyone could have the original poster’s point of view, and “peasant” in this sense was used rhetorically. However, because you happen to have read it differently, it shows that you (subconsciously or consciously) were the one to make the assumption of the poster’s social position. That’s more of a reflection of your thinking, not mine.
Leave aside the psychological interpretations, you might even less know about, or by the same token I will be free to interpret that ‘peasant’ is indeed just a projection of your ego – LOL.
Interpret away! We’ve both made our points; let’s move on.
Have you retired yet? Didn’t think so. So you get your thrills from churning equipment as an end all and be all? Good for you. Does it improve your photography? Didn’t think so. From where I come from, we refer to your kind as arrivistes and dilettantes. Flashing the latest toy like an extension of their penis, while we all laugh behind their backs.
Indeed. In the last 7 years I have changed cameras almost each year. But there was a reason: Olympus was increasing IQ and handling all the time. Now it seems that m4/3 has reached a plateau, so only a fool would keep changing like a headless chicken.
Changing cameras takes a lot of time, if one (usually) sells what was bought before. Matching lenses too since it is the interaction between body and lens that must be optimised for max IQ. This in the end goes against QI, Quality of Image, which depends on daily practice. Without daily practice oneis just a hobbyist, which is really a waste of time. One might as well go fishing, which is more useful to the family or to one’s belly 🙂
Thre is also another aspect which takes time, but usefully. Learning from lives of best photographers, matching souls. How they developed their style, what problems they set to solve.
Time is indeed limited, so you can travel on the shoulders of giants, and improve one’s perception of reality, before it vanishes. Let others waste their time in empty acquisition. It is no accident that most Magnum photographers were known to be one camera-one lens men, they had better to do with their time.
So that’s why you shoot tourists in miniskirts: meditation! I got it now 🙂
Not really. You probably don’t know anything about meditation, and certainly not about dakini meditation.
Prude, bigot, and racist troll.
Admin, thanks for the link to the EM5 deal. It was too hard to pass. I’ve just ordered one for $629 USD (zero shipping and taxes). Keeping my fingers crossed to get the camera in new condition in California.
Why does Olympus continue to add cameras to their stable when the can’t produce enough product to meet demand. I’ve been waiting two months for an M1
Above Poster make good point-Fuji xe2 w/oss 18-55 close at half price as em1 w/12-40 neither in stock mostly yet
