Not impressed.
Can’t be any worse than any of the current glass available for tiny four thirds
So do more expensive and heavier Canikon lenses make you a better photographer?
A great proof of m4/3 superiority over Sony Alpha 🙂
Really…
Alpha is so useless Lomo won’t even make a lens for it. 🙂
Cool!
With 3 shitty pieces of plastic u can shoot crappy pictures, all that for a 90€ spent!
With the same amount (or less) on the Bay u can get one (or two!) great M42 russian lenses + M42 to M43 adaptor ring.
Bloody hipsters…
Finally you can get pictures that suck also from digital!
a little expensive.
Awful quality
Was there really a lens between the camera and the objects?
Did that video just achieve the exact opposite effect of its intention?
these lenses will be a lot of fun especially when used with the artfilters, echo shot, colour creator, photo story and different aspect ratios 🙂
In fact it’s pure genius. For some people Expressionism never happened.
They still live in the ample savannahs of the Neanderthals, where a bone is a bone, and it must be sturdy enough to crush a skull… 🙂
I bet that you are not going to buy this…
I saw you in Neanderthal lately.
Price is a bit on the high side. But if Lomo is your thing, then I guess it’s ok. There is more to photography than sharpness and bokeh, some people just don’t get it. They only see what they do and nothing else, but fads come and go, one day they might be on the other side of the fence defending their perfect sharpness when everybody wants distorted and funky lighted photos. I still have one of those CCTV lenses for m4/3, and for Bday parties those were the only pics the kids liked. These kids will grow up, if their taste remains the same, 20 years from now, photography will be a lot different than it is now.
Just use hipstamatic on iPhone. It’s less expensive and easier to carry around. There aretons of apps like that to take “creative” shots. BTW, you don’t need a “creative” lens to take a creative photo.

I have a 25mm Pentax f1.4 CCTV lens I bought for 80$. It’s surprisingly sharp in the middle, can take indoor photos and is tons of fun for a toy lens. At f8, these lomo lenses are a tough sell for the price. Maybe each for 25$ might work, but I’d never buy them as a kit, despite the fact I actually like toy lenses.
Well, I really don’t get it. I just take great pictures with great glass. Then if I want the lo-fi look I just use snapseed (I still have the desktop version) or even OnOne Perfect Photo Suite. Then if I want a sharp pic I have it and if I want ugly, then I have it.
It’s not a matter of ‘wanting it ugly’ but wanting it tactile – synesthesia to mention it.
I know that Oly cameras have multiexposure but it’s tedious to use it, and sharpness is not really needed. Lomo instead refreshes a very old shutter mechanism, the Compur. And makes use of a genius feature like interactive Bulb, so you can actually check how the two images superimpose when you are actually at it.
For instance you could say to a model to move, and intensify the background. Same for the gels.
Lomo I think became popular with Freestyle, but painting experimented a long time ago with Expressionism, so it0s certainly legitimate unless you think that Photo should be limited to scientific reproduction of the real – which one exactly?
I am delighted that Lomo chose m4/3 as a format – I was really sad to have to go back to film to enjoy their products. From time to time I like ‘dirty’ photography, so I am not bothered bu low-res.
Some low-res pictures made with a toy camera have landed me the highest number of views. People enjoy playfulness, next to other things.
This is the perfect package for photographers that are incapable of taking decent pictures with great glass. So why to spend so much?? Then they disguise their incompetence in the name of “art”.
Yes, I suppose you have problems with Art – street art, that is.
But that’s your problem, as what anybody does with their equipment, that doesn’t stay within your arbitrary limits.
We have ‘likes’ or ‘views’, thankfully.
You might have a lot of views, because you keep talking about Art, but people don’t give you any fav, because there’s no art in what you do. And there’s a big difference.
V. funny. Why would they look at my stuff if they didn’t like it? Another troll made the same argument, so I suppose that you are the same jealous, lonesome individual with no balls.
Am, I’m not jealous of your flickr, not at all. My point is that there’s a big difference from “likes/favs” and views. If you (you in general) spam the forums talking about your pictures obviously you’ll get eventually a lot of visits.
The “problem” is that you won’t get any “like/fav” if your photos don’t deserve it.
The most important thing is your own satisfaction: are you happy with the photos you take? Do you like them? Good for you.
Time ago I told you why I don’t like your photos, aesthetically and ethically, I explained it and you felt like I was offending you.
Have a nice day.
I can give back the compliment. However not being a peasant and a bore I don’t feel the need to smear your indifferent trade.
It probably smarts you that people like other work than yours – it’s typical of small minds that spend their time in front of their mirror.
BTW I have over 60 photographer friends without doing any of the propaganda you do – and I am honoured not to have you – so keep off, small man.
Why are you always thinking people are against you Amalric? Pazienza. C’ho provato! 😉
… said the CLAPTRAP siding with trolls 🙂
Hey amaldick, somehow I also manage 100s of views every day, but without spamming forums with links to my pictures or otherwise ‘promoting’ my photostream. All word of mouth and people stumbling upon them by accident.
If your work is decent, you don’t have to act like a total moron to get people to look atit.
I don’t think it’s supposed to appeal to gear heads. It’s just a bit of fun, if it brings a few customers over to m4/3 then it’s all good for the rest of us.
I wouldn’t mind playing around with them for a day or so (i.e. borrow from a friend). I don’t think I’d cough up more than £20/$30 for the set though.
Is it a coincidence that lamo, if written by a 4-year old might come out Lomo. Looks like a 4 year old came up with this.
Prefer to buy couple of film rolls instead. Film is dying and we are killing it 🙂
these are meant to be fun…just because your image is sharp as a tack does not make it a good image…I like the funkiness of lomography…yep you can do this with your iphone and instagram.go into photoshop there are plenty of plug-in filters that give a similar effect..Instagram is actually based on the Holga and lomography…these lenses will give you nice effects but it will still not be like using a Holga or Diana+…yep I sometimes shoot 120 film in these cameras and get great results…the results you will get with the microfourthirds setup will be good as well…but different…If you don’t mind shooting a little film you can get a Holga or Diana cheap on auction sites…I got my Diana+ with a ring flash for 13.05 USD…loosen up people…sometimes it is good to just go out and have fun…and see the world a little differently…I do agree with the other posters that the asking price for this lens set is way too much…I actually think you can buy a Diana+ wide angle lens and an adapter to fit on your micro four thirds for around 30 dollars
one more thing…generally these lenses and lomography cameras are often referred to as toy cameras…so that should give you some idea…nonetheless…some professionals use these in their work and have even shot magazine covers using a Holga…but hey its not for everyone…that’s for sure…take care
Just curious are you off EyeEm.com ?
….that’s for svenlovesflo
I don’t want to prejudge the uses of lomography, but certainly multiexposure reminds of collage.
In collage it’s not the perfection of the image that matters, but the relationship between the assembled elements, that is the novelty of it.
Multiexposure also introduces an element of randomness. Both techniques were used by Dadaism and Surrealism, so again nothing that cannot be explored by a visual art such as photography.
To prevent those the Nazis burned them like ‘degenerate art’, ad substituted their own brand of ‘National Art’ – LOL. Will history repeat itself as a farce?
That devastatingly gorgeous bald patch, those wrap-around mafioso glasses, and you even read a brochure about “art”. You hate na_zis because you are uniquely smart. I think “uniquely smart” really defines you. Woof woof.
I think everyone can agree that that was stunningly bad, especially the fisheye which might be the worst rendering of any lens that I have ever seen. But since the company is all about turning a profit by providing the public with stunningly bad equipment, I suppose that there’s nothing to complain about. Nothing to buy or use for 99.99997% of us, but nothing to complain about. It’s not like Leica just released these for $4,000 a piece.
For me, if you want to do this kind of photography on µ4/3, there are tons of CCTV lenses that offer way better build and optical quality for $25-30 a piece (the Fujian 25/1.4 and 35/1.7 as well as the Fujinon 9/1.4 come to mind).
Admittedly, I don’t know what a “hipster” is or what would make these crap lenses “experimental,” so maybe I’m missing the point.
we must remember Lomo is marketing more than photography. It’s selling a concept more than anything else. There is two kinds of LOMO. What is sold to you in a package so that you don’t need to have an imaginative cell in your brain … and then there is the ‘LOMO’ concept the marketing is based on. Which is experimental photography. Anything Lomo tries to sell you can be done cheaper and more imaginative on your own. They sell craptastic plastic cameras that you can spent half the amount on and buy a vintage camera which is better built and more fun to experiment with.
Their whole, fast-food imagination in packaging that probably gets more attention than the product inside is the most irritating aspect. That and what they charge for their products. CCTV lenses, Pinholes. There are literally dozens or more models of old 35mm folding cameras out there that have mechanical shutter/lens ends that you can adapt to an adapter tube and you then you have the same scenario. Of course you will have to put up with using glass made by Zeiss, Schneider, Ludwig, etc.
Lomo is the bucket fried chicken of experimental photography and has it’s fans, if this improves the mFT system overall, salute. Their hype is aggravating none the less.
If they sold these individually I’d pick up the fisheye, but seriously: 80-90 ninety dollars for three lenses is not expensive. It just isn’t. Yes, there are cheaper things on eBay, but these are clearly built for screwing around with and having some fun with filters and exposures. I’d throw one of these on one of my cameras and shoot a bunch of crappy but entertaining video in a heartbeat. Like the rest of you, I like to get the very best out of my gear, and I think that good lenses are a real point of pride with m4/3 owners (I know I like to show up Canikon snobs from time to time with a fast prime), but these lenses remind me of the importance of messing around and screwing up and generally enjoying myself with a camera.
Ah hell, I just talked myself into buying these stupid things.
You’re all a bunch of old bitter whiners lol. It’s obvious none of you have a passion for real photography.
Remember a Olympus 8/15mm costs 79 Euro.
I love all my super sharp lenses for m43, and am absolutely stunned away from the images I get when I shoot with them. Nevertheless I have ordered this kit. I did shoot with a digital toy cam for World Toy Camera Day 2013 and had a lot of fun while shooting. The results where of course medicore, from a 1.3MP camera with a plastic Lens. But it was so much fun to not worry about sharpness and resolution. I guess I will be using this kit quite a bit, as it for sure will train my eye to look for other things while taking pictures.
If you think it’s crap, just don’t buy it. I find it brilliant that we have even more choice with our m43 cameras and don’t need to fiddle about with adapters to use lo-fi lenses.
I can understand if people do not want to buy these lenses, but I do think it is not THAT expensive at all considering they are selling three of them…and yes, some people like these “crappy” photos (myself included). They are supposed to focus on the senses and not technical bits.
Now I am not saying I am this awesome artist that “gets” it, I am just merely saying that people like many things. I have a $10 USD Holga lens, now I dont use it on the EM-5, I use it on the E-P3 and I love the results from it. It is a lot of fun, a lot of you should at least try it sometime.
