I keep missing these and the cameraland deals for a 56! I read on another forum there may be a sale on the 56mm 1.2 in November – have you heard anything?
Me too, should have bought 56mm f1.2 instead of 23mm f1.4 when I had the chance.
56mm has that wonderful f/1.2 maximum aperture but, wide open, the background bokeh is really harsh. Presumably that is why Fujifilm offer the more expensive version with an apodisation element. For classic portraiture, the 56mm f/2.4 macro offers beautifully smooth background bokeh but obviously less subject/background separation because of the f/2.4 max. aperture.
