Actually, my original comment was made in a fairly lighthearted way. Personally, I think calling someone mean and spiteful is more mean spirited, but that’s just my opinion. You are entitled to yours.

I must say every time is excited to read others announcements to see what they have offered. but look at D810, what a over pricey-bulky-junk of crap! there is not thing new and therefore Sony no need to answer to Nikon D810 announcement. Shit, no counter-improvement observed from Sony.

Phillip Bloom’s test is very impressive.
He’s an interesting guy to take note of as he actually owns and runs many rather high end video capable cameras, it’s a useful analysis from someone who offers a reasoned opinion!
I was looking for the right a7 series camera to buy because I can only afford one; I believe the a7s is it.
This one is more expensive than the A7+A7r combined (you get the same 2 batteries when you buy those two cams!). Shop around and you will see.
A7s is not more expensive than other two combined.
A7s $2500
A7r $2300
A7 $1500
I said shop around.
A7 + A7r = 2368 Euros.
A7s = 2399 Euros.

If you need the camera mainly for shooting video, the A7s is probably better than the A7 and A7r combined, so what’s your point again? 😉
In fact, all the other cameras combined together cannot do what the A7s can do. It’s a Ferrari with a Corolla’s price.
The NSA is going to love this camera (but I am pretty sure that they have something that takes these kind of images from 1000000 feet away). Really, though, this camera looks like another winner for Sony (for the right applications).
Can’t see any difference to my HX400V and I have 20 megapixies. Sony rules!
HXV400V is a great camera. If you got the A7s as well you can cover any requirement for years to come.
1200mm! I can picture silly squirel on neightbor roof and looks like huge furry godzila! Stellar I say! A7S not for me because of outdated lens change system, is techology from past 18ts century: one (great super Zeiss!) lens for everything is future, like clever phone but best Zeiss!

I think one thing he forgot to mention about the a7s is that it has incredibly accurate low light af that goes down to way past minus three EV level light that the best dSlr af can go down to.
He doesn’t usually use auto focus. And doesn’t use e-mount lenses. So for most filmmakers, autofocus is a moot point…
YES! No other camera in the whole world has better low-light AF (better than bat!) and studio AF (better than hazelblood!) and sport AF (equal to ferari or maybe better!) except HX400V which is best and used by pro. And Zeiss is so much better than Cannon. I love Sony and is best! When I shoot my Sony machine people is always much impressed and knows I am pro. So cool!

This is the camera that has got everything. Luxurious full frame. Low light. Decent FPS. Fast AF-S. The only one of it’s kind.
How about 11+ fps for sports and wildlife? How about weather sealing? How about a high resolution sensor for studio and landscapes? How about a reasonable battery for a pro working day? How about IBIS? How about a set of fast supertele primes? How about … No camera has it all, most certainly not this one.
I didn’t say it got all. It certainly covers a much wider range of needs than any other camera . Hence my statement, only one of a kind
Oops. I did say it has got everything. I think that’s a bit over enthusiastic. But it certainly, i think, has the best value for money from my POV. In my view, I lean toward picture quality than convenience for my needs. And i work within that reasonable constraint.

Yes, you are right actually something is passing. Its interesting that it doesn’t have flashing lights like a plane or any other human craft flying at night.
But it could be a plastic bag or something light being blown by the wind.
