      1. Yes, it is safe.
It belongs to one of the biggest shops giant in Switzerland (Coop).
I had already ordered several things from them in electronic goods for several years (GPS, ipad, Nex5, Nex5R…etc)

I am not sure they will ship outside of Switzerland….
        Perhaps you have to ask…

But be careful with the your own country custom taxes charging.
VAT in Switzerland is only 8%.

  1. I wish Sony had a decent native lens and flash selection for the A7/A7r. Not to mention the fact that mounting them on a tripod is a wobbly problem. Too bad considering the fact that I need a decent system for real estate photography. Oh well. Canon’s dynamic range sucks, but their native radio flashes and lens selection sold me. One 6D, a 17-40 lens, two 600’s and the STE3 trigger beat this haphazard Sony system to hell.

I’d suggest that others in my shoes follow suit. Otherwise, have fun with Sony’s semi-pro offerings. 🙁

    1. Kev > he is a troll, he’s disappointed with Canon offering and decided to rant it out in SAR.

Besides the native lens issue which will be solved in a month time, do us a favour and stop spreading false information regarding the “tripod mounting wobbly problem”. The A7/r has a different design then the NEX series (NEX camera have a problem where the surface is too small which cause mounting very heavy lens, eg: long heavy lenses to tilt downwards a bit, even after tightening the QR plate), so it probably wont have this problem and even if it does, just adding a tape at the bottom or using an anti-twisting QR plate would solve this problem.

It’s funny you mention lens selection, cause this camera can mount the very best of Canon lens and Nikon lens according to the user wish, and AF speed or manual wouldn’t be an issue if they use it for real estate photography.

    2. If you are doing real estate photography… Why are you using TTL? Flash triggers and manual flashes or paks for pros, my friend.

Check out the E mount 10-18mm f/4 lens. It hardly crops at all but the longest focal length and will provide a nice FOV for you… If you cannot wait for the inevitable wide zoom.

    1. After SonyNaysayer spent all of his money on Canon equipment he only had enough left to buy a monopod I guess. Evidently he is unable to think out of the box when it comes to his dislike for Sony flashes. How about a Metz flash? Oh, you mean he already had Canon equipment before the release of the A7, and is just trolling? My mistake.

    2. Was there ever a tripod wobbling problem with the NEX series to begin with? Just a few days ago, I shot a macro session with an R lens that weighs more than 500g including the adapter but I didn’t have any problem at all. Neither during the session nor in the images.

  2. Since we talking about NEX on tripod problems – I have a problem with NEX6 + SEL18200. Mounting this combo using camera mount makes it completely unbalanced and may cause camera loose the electrical contacts with lens when zooming or may damage the camera body. Best way would be to mount this combo using lens mount, but unfortunately there is no lens mount for SEL18200. At the moment I am using some mount for Canon lens, but since size is not exact it is also unreliable and uncomfortable.

    1. Vlad3D i have exactly the same combo, NEX6 and SEL18200 – works flawlessly mounted on my tripod. In my case on occasion the 18200 loses contact during hand held shots but not too often. I think this is a result of variance of the SEL18200 during the manufacturing process and some units are worse than others fortunately mine does not have the tripod issue at all.

      1. I had bad experience when camera “lost” the lens in important moments. I sent camera and lens to Sony for repair and probably it is fine now but I do not believe it anymore. Another problem – for video when tripod head is always free to move having all the weight in front makes it difficult to use.
Nothing can replace native lens tripod mount.

  3. I have been following the prices in France, those last weeks.
Here is what i saw, for the a7 body :

La Fnac had his usual 15€ cashback per 100€ spent week-end,
then Amazon and Boulanger followed by lowering the price of the a7 to 1269€
But they rised their prices as soon as the Fnac week-end was over.

Now they sell the a7 at 1424€, as it is the price you can have at la Fnac, with the 5% permanent discount that you have with the fnac card (about 10€ for 3 years).

So Amazon and Boulanger and some others just follow each other, when one lowers, all lower, when one rises, all rise.

I’m sure la Fnac will have other discount week-ends, as Christmas is coming. So wait for good prices to come back 😉

Or, if you live in Paris, there is a small store, which sells a7 at 1195€. But they don’t send it, you have to go there by yourself. Many people of the forums ask if they are honest, because of their crazy prices. I never went there, but in all forums, people say they are ok, if you don’t mind a messy shop, and no warranty except Sony’s one.

    1. “Or, if you live in Paris, there is a small store, which sells a7 at 1195€”
Which one ? Give us some hints. Which street ? I don’t live in Paris but I have some friends that could pick up one of theses camera for me.

      1. True, there is also a small store in Berlin called VERARSCHE 2000 and it sells the a7 for 900 Euro. Only personal pickup of course. I bought two. So crazy…

      2. Gron, I have the same pseudo for my email account at hotmail. Send me an e-mail, I prefer not to post the name of the shop on the net, because I don’t want the shop to sell all their A7’s before I get mine 😉
(I’m not even sure they have some in stock, in fact…)

    2. I live in Paris and do not understand how Amazon can sell the A7 + SEL-2870 for 1529€ and the A7 only for 1499€ ! Availability 1/12/13.
The same lens costs 500€ on the french sony site and is available in february!
      Where is the trick?

  4. my guess is 2 more weeks, AT LEAST for me in the US, until i get my hands on my A7…. I’ll be admiring and reading reviews until then… 🙂 i’m anxiously waiting!
