Amazon prime with free shipping and no tax to CA.
Oh snap, there were only 2 left from that seller and the last one is gone. In case anyone wonders, the price was $1,798, so I would expect others to discount at least that much over the next 30 days…
Personally I think that is pretty pathetic for a 2 yr. old model (A65 and A77) with only a $100 discount.
A77 released at $1500.
$100 doesn’t sound like much, but that is on top of several other price reductions. The A77 was $1398 when it was released two years ago and is now down to $798. Used A77s have been going for about $650 on ebay. This price drop is making the price gap narrow enough that a new A77 starts to look attractive relative to a used one.
@Tom according to dpreview the A77 was priced $1399 at launch

The camera is now priced at less than half that, so its not as if the $100 discount is its first reduction . I imagine those who paid the $1399 may well have a very different opinion on its current price 🙂
Still have to wait for the Sony A7 if you’re in the USA though… kinda lame! Wish i could get mind before thanksgiving, but that’s def. not happening! I guess the SR5 report that shipments were going out early were incorrect!
This guy got a call from a Sony rep to confirm his address because his camera is shipping to him today: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52589096
