The chinese blog Xitek posted the first image samples taken with the “Lens Turbo” adpater. You can see them here: Xitek-1, Xitek_2, Xitek_3. These have been taken with the [shoplink 18006 ebay]Pentax 40mm f/2.8 lens (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. The “Lens Turbo” is the chinese clone of the popular and twice as expensive “Speed Booster”. The Lens Turbo will be sold on eBay from May and I will let you know when the first sales will be online. Or if you use Slidoo save this search to get notified when there will be Lens Turbo eBay auctions (Click here and if required change country in settings). The price will be $249.
One more news: First Speed Boosters are for sale via [shoplink 18007 ebay]UK store on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

now if only someone made a 2x adapter for m4/3…
So it’s only available in NEX-Pentax only? And the Speedbooster is coming in NEX to Nikon and Canon and a few other mounts. Am I the only one who finds it strange that there is no Sony a-mont booster adapter for a Sony mirrorless camera?
+1
It’s more work because of the electronics. Means if they made one, it would cost more R&D and they’d have to charge more (like metabones charges +200 for the electronic adapter vs the dumb ones).
Because Pentax has Limited pancakes and their lenses do have an aperture ring.
Duh, why doesn’t Sony make focal reducers?
So people won’t have to buy their FF bodies?
Who would want regular adapters for lenses that were intended for FF.
Now make a Konica AR to NEX mount adapter with this focal reducer lens and I will be very happy!
It’s either using the whole FF lens surface with the reducer and gaining an extra stop or using only a part of the FF lens surface with better edge to edge sharpness (depending of the lens obviously). I like both options.
Wasn’t it at $100? Damn.
I thought so too. Originally I read a comment about this being ‘much’ cheaper then Metabones and around $115.00 or so, if I remember correctly. Now, suddenly it’s become more then double that price, and approaching Metabones price.
Me too, remembers $115 tag
Approaching? Since when is $239 anywhere near $399?
Statistically, the price for this adapter doubles every second day. So it will not just approach, it will surpass the price of the Metabones very soon. 😉
(I already have the EF-NEX Metabones SB, but if the Lens Turbo is on par with SpeedBooster IQ wise, I will definitely buy it as well, but for other mounts of course.)
True! I asked that in the other thread, and here was admin’s reply:
“Yep sorry. That price is valid only for the Bejing show. After that price will go back to normal to $249.”
I was all set to buy right away, but now it’s a “brainer.”
If the optics are as good (or close to) Metabones, I’m in for an FD version.
fd version available in may?
Would be nice if they could have taken some photos in good light with lots of detail across the frame so you could determine how much fuzziness the corners have… or maybe a good night show to see if it has the same odd shaped bokeh as the metabones.
Nothing good enough to tempt me to buy it with those samples.
I agree; those samples just show me that the images are wider, but give no clues about light falloff or softness into the corners and don’t show the bokeh.
Yeah, if the quality of those photos in terms of content is any indication of the kind of the work this company does, we can’t expect it to come close to Metabones. How difficult would it have been to step outside during daylight and snap a few shots… of anything that would allow the viewer to see how this adapter performs? Almost like they are trying to hide its optical flaws?
Nice!!
My Pentax A 50mm 1.7 is VERY sharp! Withit… will be amazing!
But i want a generic mount (could be a EF) to use Minolta, FD, Contax Yashica adapters as well.

One thing’s certain though. Now Metabones will most likely rush their products out the door sooner. Good or bad, we’ll see.
It’s a reverse tele converter, one size fits all, made in China.
And the Metabones are the good ones ?
I followed the discussions, there is no credible review, not a single usable image sample; common sense dictates it’s unusable .
