  1. Are the Canadian GM1s the same kits as the US models? Do they use the same power adapters and have the same warranties?

  2. Same as the U.S, only you get black. I can’t understand why Japan would whine about slow sales, then shoot themselves in the foot by loosing about seventy percent of their sales shipping silver only bodies to the States. You would have thought they would have learned from Olympus, or at least from their GX7 sales lull. Being stupid is one thing, but being stupid after finding out you are stupid and having a chance to change it, is nothing short of moronic.

    1. +100!
      Yeah, no kidding!

I ordered a black GX7 from Aden Camera in Canada because I didn’t want to wait months to get a black one in the US.

    2. Indeed they are moronic.

I’ve been at Costco today. Nikon had in the showroom ALL their models till the D7100. Canon had one DSLR. Even Samsung learned and had in the show the NX2000. Olympus? Nada. Panasonic? Nisba, if we exclude a crappy compact (would they had placed at least the LX series…)

Now you wonder why Panasonic and Olympus camera divisions are in red whereas Nikon and Canon are in black!

      1. No kidding.

Panasonic and Olympus have been making and selling M4/3 mirrorless cameras since 2008 and it’s only now that Nikon with the Nikon 1 system, and Canon (sort of) are selling mirrorless that a few people notice. It’s really a shame because M4/3 really hits a sweet spot for size, weight and image quality. Sure, NEX has been around for a while, too, and made a more serious mindshare dent than the lame “efforts” of P&O combined.

I can’t tell you how many times people have been interested in my m4/3 cameras and they don’t know what the hell I’m talking about when I try to explain mirrorless.

It’s a shame, because Olympus and Panasonic could OWN mirrorless today, had they made ANY sort of effort at marketing M4/3.

        1. I have to agree….people really don’t know anything about mirrorless or MFT. Seems like mostly photo buffs are aware of the genre. Then if you mention that the viewfinder is a vid screen…that puts people off, too…Until someone actually sees how small MFT cameras are and looks thru something like the Olympus VF4…they don’t know or understand. Too bad for Oly and Panny.
Also, I have to agree how idiotic it is for Panasonic not to import the black GX7 and GM1 into the US. That is just plain STUPID.

  3. I too am interested in getting a black GM1 now. Have you been happy with Aden for your GM1 purchase? Have you used them in the past, too? Were any unexpected inbound fees added due to the delivery into the US? Thanks.
