Admi: the flash or adaptor rebate won’t work for existing owners. I preordered my em-1 during the first minutes of its availability and was unwilling to cancel my order and lose my place in the queue to get a small flash. Although I do feel like they should have made it available to me like everyone else.
Of course the lens rebate works for me though so I’m excited about that.

I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I live in the US and plan on buying an M1 & a 12-40 f/2.8 Pro lens. Of course I want to take advantage of the rebate…but here is my question…The rebate is only valid until Dec. 2nd and the Olympus lenses are not slated to hit our shores until mid to late Dec., at the earliest???
So is this rebate only good on preordered lenses? And even at that…the rebate must be sent in by the end of Dec. or it is not valid. Why is Olympus making this deadline such a mess? They are creating this problem, aren’t they???
Bob. I spoke with olympus and they indicated that the lens will likely ship the first 2 weeks of November. They also said that they only need to see that the order date was during the promo period and that they will honor the promo even if the order doesn’t actually ship until after the 2nd. Didn’t get a name, but the rep sounded very confident. Just need to submit the paperwork by the deadline. I’m waiting to order until after the nikon announcement in 2 weeks.
Yes…i have not ordered yet camera or lens….am putting my M5 online this week to sell. ….Still drooling over the A7r..but I have a full Canon FF kit…so I will have to be patient about that…what is the Nikon announcement about?????

You’re right. It appears the deal only applies to pre-orders. I have to assume it’s a way of enticing people to pre-order the kit. It wouldn’t surprise me that after the hype and once the E-M1 is in stock in most stores as standard/old stock, that the prices drop to reflect the rebate deal. I bet in a year from now the body will be about $250 cheaper.
I guess we’ll see.
Anyone know if I can use both rebates? I’ve already ordered the lens, but would like to get the lens adapter as well. However, both rebate forms require the original UPC code off the camera box.

yes you can use both rebates. you must submit the info separately following the instructions from each rebate. one of the rebates needs the upc from one box and the other requires the other. basically 200 discount and a free accessory for anyone purchasing all three items during the promo period. also, you don’t need to have the items on the same receipt.
the lens deal requires the upc from the lens box AND your serial number from your em1. not the upc of the camera iirc.
