  1. The 17mm T1.6 is a photo of the prototype. The production version is of similar size and design and will be in the Philip Bloom’s Movember fundraiser draw.

The 17mm T1.6 prototype was previously tested by Seb Farges on vimeo.

  2. Hey SLR.M guys, when is the new 12mm going to be available and where ? adorama still list the old trumpet version. Keep up the good work, you’re one of the things that make m4/3 so exiting, don’t let the snobs tell you different.

As a suggestion, could you guys come up with a Tilt-shift solution ? Since you’ve been doing niche solutions like spotting scopes and the like, could you come up with a wide angle T/S lens or simply an Tilt AND shift adapter (most adapters just do 1 function not both)?

A T/S Speedboster-like adapter would be glorious but I would settle for a 12mm or 10mm native T/S lens, m4/3 is a really good complement to medium format (more DOF)for architectural work.

      1. Yes and double yes ! I would like that too. I don’t need any tilt; for wide angle lenses (and architecture), shift is all you need.

  3. It looks as though SLR Magic will continue to sell the “trumpet” version of the 12mm in addition to the new geared version.

One note, I checked Adorama and they’re showing an updated version with the aperture and focus rings in eir correct locations, not reversed with the focus ring closest to the camera. That’s my only quibble about the 12mm is the reversed rings. One nice thing vs. The geared version, it only weighs 370g. It’s now $599, $50 more.

  4. These are just the C lenses you can get on ebay for $25-30 right? I understand when they come from ebay they can be hit or miss in condition (I have a few) but I would certainly never pay $500 for one.
