Good to hear that it is becoming widely available. There is word on DPReview that some in the USA already have the 60/2.8 macro on the way.
I have also just noticed that Robin Wong has his next step of the review on the macro posted. Off to read it now!
I kind of wonder who thought that making a brown version would be a good idea . . .
not me, but i had a similar thought about another colour or material, something like both body and lenses in gun-grey or titanium.
Guys don’t know where else to ask this in here: Do all Olympus Em5 cameras suffer from the paint peeling off the body or just the silver ones (or was it the black I forgot)???
I’ve heard this rumor a couple of times. My black E-M5 has had no problem like this so far. I’m not sure whether it is a real problem, or a malicious rumor planted by some troll.
I have a black one. The prism corners have peeled, showing white underneath now.
But no complains, as I throw it around in my bag without too much care.
I guess it’s normal.
It is an actual problem, more common among “earlier” silver versions; Olympus couldn’t really fix the problem, so they made the silver coating darker so that the peelings won’t be so visible. However, it seems the later versions have much better quality control. Still, peeling does seem to happen from daily usage.
Black color ones have the same problem, but much less; at least much less visible.
OK…widely available..so when is the price dropping? (too bad it isn’t a Panasonic lens..the price would have dropped already! :-))
