This is the very first GX7 unboxing video posted by Smallcamerabigpicture from Goulio Sciorio. He also posted the first part of his ongoing GX7 review (Click here to read).
There were many complaints about the Whte Balance on ePhotozine GX7 review. They have now redone the test shots with manual White Balance (Previously it was auto white balance). You can see them here: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/panasonic-lumix-dmc-gx7-expert-review-22581
And there is another E-P5 vs GX7 RAW file comparison via Techradar: GX7 RAW (Click here) and E-P5 RAW (Click here).

More reviews needed to justify the GX7 .
That not really matter to me cause likely I’m
going to get one . If the GX7 failed to impress me , definitely will sell it before things get late .
The more I read about this camera…the more I am on the fence about it. It has a great design and form factor…but I am not impressed with the image quality. I have a GX1 and an OMD…of course the OMD outshines the GX1 in IQ…but the GX1 has a great form factor. I was hoping that this GX would really come up to grade in the image quality dept…but it has a lot of those same lacking characteristics as the GX1… the white balance is off (I know you can adjust it..but why should I on a $1000 camera body..the OMD does not need this?). My GX1 images tend to be toward the cool side and kind of flat and lifeless…kinda hard to put my finger on it…but the OMD files are much more pleasing. (I am talking RAW here…never shoot jpegs). I do not think the image quality or general image handling is as good as the OMD…so this is disappointing. ..and for all those whose say that this is not the final version..blah..blah…Panasonic has released this camera to reviewers and you can bet it is so close to the production version that I doubt there will be much difference.
Damn..that form factor is appealing though! LOL!
+1
You’d have a few heads bidding there
Olympus, what are you waiting for you fools
Im sure the GX7 will beat it in tests when the time comes, but the only reason I see a EM5 user switching, is for the better ergonomics, interface and corner VF.
Other than that, why switch?
Yes..I think your images will be as good or better out of an OMD.
Does the auto WB not work? Why not? Does the GX7 come with a square of white paper or an 18% grey.
It is probably too early to tell.
Maybe the firmware on the test camera was not final.
Maybe Panasonic will release a firmware fix, if there is an issue.
I feel that this “issue” is a bit overhyped, since the camera isn’t shipping still.
Excuse me…Panasonic is asking $1000 for body-only….they have been in the game for quite some time…and this camera (preliminary or final) should have professionally designed white balancing ability….otherwise they should not be presented in any form. We are talking about the basics on a 2013 $1000 camera body?????
If you want to test how AWB work the use AWB, if you want to test something else then use MWB to avoid uneccessary differneces. All manufacureres have slightly differnt ways to evaluate the white balance automatically and most complex scenes will yield differnt WB depending on the brand and to some extent on the model.
I just noticed on the camera size site, that the GX7 without any lens attached and it’s big honking viewfinder protrusion, is thicker than the Fuji X100 with a lens on it. There is just something wrong about that and the Fuji has a larger sensor too. http://camerasize.com/compare/#472,133
you wanted a grip ?…now you have it so dont complain pls 🙂
Put off the rubber EVF-Protection. There you go.
Everyone cries and cries for a rangefinder MFT camera..now they get it and all some can do is complain about the VF sticking out…are the stap lugs a problem for your whittle delicate fingers too????
The camera size link you have just posted does not support your statement that the GX7 is bigger. In fact the GX7 is 3% less width and 5% less height and only 1% more depth mainly because of the protrusion of the EVF so your face is not right up on the LCD screen. So in fact the GX7 is significantly smaller than the X100 in both height and width.
Why are the complaints? There are only sample’s.. So you can not judge on sample’s, wait for full reviews 🙂
This camera could cost $500.00 body only, and the Olympus fanboys here would still rip it to shreds… They’re a Poison to this site, so expect hate on anything Panasonic and love for overpriced Olympus gear.
Fortunately, I’m here ! using E-M5 with pany f2.8 zooms 😀
No, haters are everywhere. And then there are those who hate haters. The truth is that people will never feel satisfied, maybe only if they’ll get a new camera for free, but I would still doubt. This is just gear, not a medicine against some bad disease.
I’d fall into that category…
So do you mean panny boys’ comments will be deleted??
Or do you mean panny boys are too lazy to write??
it just means that there are no panny fanboys, only oly. Thats why you dont see them
Just exactly what is the use of having a tilting LCD and a tilting VF? I was trying to think about why it would be handy and I can’t come up with a reason. If I want to shoot at ground level and it’s muddy on the ground, then I’m just going to get down on my hands and knees in the mud, with my white pants on and take a picture, so I can use my fancy dancy tilting VF, or am I going to flip out the LCD and keep my pants clean? I think it’s something like having two tripod sockets side by side. Why the hell are there not two tripod sockets on the the GX7 how stupid can Panasonic be? Anyone else want dual tripod sockets?
What about when using a tripod shorter than your head height? It’s convenient to not need to squat to look through the viewfinder. Tilt screen is good too but in bright conditions the viewfinder is useful.
What is the point of having an adjustable steering wheel in a car, or an adjustable/tiltable seat.
Just because it is not useful for you, it might be useful for others.
I like the tilting screen.
this is a wonderful response. 🙂
Wow, ranting because you have two options? Are you afraid of not knowing how you want to use your camera because you can’t decide?
Look 40 seconds into this video you can view the evf from the side on tight spots and like others said a tilting lcd is very hard to see compose / focus in bright light. With the larger eyecup option also you’ll have steadier shots with it against your face.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNSZcTn2Pqo
“Just exactly what is the use of having a tilting LCD and a tilting VF?”
Tilting LCD is very useful for shooting overhead or from low angles.
Tilting EVF is useful for people who would like to shoot a sky through a viewfinder but unfortunately have their neck in a neck brace so it does not bend.
how are your mid day low angle shots? bright and clear on tha lcd I bet
Because, like every LCD screen, it’s nearly impossible to see in bright daylight. So if you want to shoot from a low angle in bright daylight, you can use the EVF.
But even if that doesn’t appeal to you, try to understand that not everyone has the same needs and desires as you, and the manufacturers aren’t building cameras just to make you happy.
Geez, some people sure have larger than necessary egos.
tilting EVF AND LCD screen is quite useful. I took my E-P5 with lumix 7-14 lens and the EVF-4 attached last night to capture the meteor shower. Put the combo on a tripod, facing up almost 180 degree to the northeastern sky. Had the EVF-4 tilted up for framing and had the LCD screen tilted up also for reviewing the results. So I think those features would become handy in some occasions.
So, I’m trying to get my head around the idea of a tilting LCD and a tilting VF and I can’t see the usefulness of both. Lets say I want to shoot at ground level in the mud, am I going to get down on my knees in my white pants, just so I can use the fancy dancy tilting VF, or am I going to flip out the LCD and keep my pants clean? Tough choice, but I may opt for the clean pants. I think having two tripod sockets side by side would be about as useful or maybe even more, since they wouldn’t make the camera almost twice as thick.
The sun is overhead and you’ve got the GX7 low on a tripod. The big display is like a reflector for the sun, so what’s your choice? You switch to the EVF, which flips up, and you can see rather well. If you’re not willing to get mud on your “pants”, remove them and show everyone your other pants.
Totaly bl00dy stupid put up you have given
You have evidently never used a tilting viewfinder. Do yourself and the world a favour and use one, the GX7 or any detachable types such as the pen or Leica.
Anyway in your scenario what would you do with a leica? Yes, get your white pants dirty so stop being a DH
The way you carry on anyone would thing you have been forced to uses a space saver tyre at a drag race.
It’s Tuesday, and hot outside, the pig is in the pen and Venus is aligned with Mars…and the angle of my VF is the exact same angle as my LCD and the exact same angle as Ur-Anus on my GX7. Time to take a picture!
Oops, I thought I lost the first draft.
is it just me or does the RAW output of the GX7 look no more advanced than the G3 IQ??? the EP5 seems to have it whipped????
It is just you!
How many centuries will it take for people to learn not to make judgments on pre-production firmware?
If so, the same is true for all m4/3 and APS-c sensors. Just depens on what to your eyes is about the same. For a critical viewer, the GX7 is clearly better.
OMG the chroma noise on the GX7 raw. Is it fair to compare it the the RAW’s from E-M5?
What a pity. It seems the tradition of high chroma noise of Panasonic sensor is still not improved nor competitive over Sony sensor at all.
+100,
yup ,it seems like the Raw comparison between E-P5 >< GX7 ,.The E-P5 has better chroma noise, than GX7,as well as the Luminance noise .just take a look at the picture from ISO800-6400.
btw,.with the awesome 5 axis IBIS on E-P5,.i just only need ISO 1600, at the most , i can not tell about the new IBIS on Lumix GX7,.coz i only have E-P5 right now,.
have fun and take a picture guys,.
If anyone was to stumble onto this site, I hope they can read through the Olympus propaganda, aka B.S.
The GX7 is the top of the hill MFT camera right now. Lets see if Olympus can recapture the top with their next overpriced camera.
It’s looking like the GX7 will do what the GF1 did for MFT, and that’s lure new shooters to the system.
Spot on!!!
Uhm, what bs. exactly?
GX7 IQ is obviously slightly worse than that of EM-5, E-PM2, and E-PL5.
just to see what you believe,.thats just a simple statement,
.but obviously either you BLIND or Moron,.or both combination,.you still can not except the comparison above,.
lets just wait and see the other comparison from other reviewer,.
and the fact is the sensor from E-p5 is the same sensor on E-PL5 /E-PM2 and OM-D ,.which already i years old,.but still the NEW panasonic GX7 can not surpass the Old OLY technology.
STILL GETTING IT, CANT WAIT it’s not top of the MFT cameras if the Raw image quality is not as good or better than the competition.
Calling it the top of the hill on such limited evidence as this is as ridiculous as calling it garbage based on these pre-production files. Maybe we should all wait until someone does some real, controlled comparisons on final firmware?
Nah, that would require a little bit of maturity and common sense, something sorely lacking in this comments thread.
Then get it, but don’t try and kid us that your broad generalisation is close to reality.
The RAW output to my eyes is inferior to that of the OM-D. It is bigger and heavier than an OM-D. It isn’t weather sealed, The IS isn’t a patch on the 5-axis IS in the OM-D. The burst mode is only half as many fps as the OM-D.
It looks like it is a great camera with features that are better than those in the OM-D or which it otherwise lacks, but to say it’s top of the food chain is silly when the final IQ certainly doesn’t look like it will be better from the samples I have seen so far.
It’s a worthy alternative, but not a game changer.
Then again, why bother? I sure the truth will come out. Besides, I got a G5 and a FF to tide me over. ..
“OMG the chroma noise on the GX7 raw. Is it fair to compare it the the RAW’s from E-M5?”
Notice the complete and absolute absence of the noise in the E-P5 RAWs. Image only gets softer.
IOW, another rushed “review” to generate clicks.
I bet Adobe hasn’t even released the beta ACR with GX7 support.
I wrote that, because the em-5 pics looked to smoothed and since i recall someone mentioning that some noise reuction is applied even to the em-5 raw file. But as someone noticed, the to sets of images are no from th same raw converter… 🙂
Oh yes and Olympus also managed to get all detail out of the window, that is fantastic news! I have the EPL5 and my RAWs do not look that awful fortunately. Either this site did something wrong or the EP5 uses cooked RAWs. When we compare to the uncooked GH3 files we see how well both do. And it seems the GX7 has the edge here. It remains to be seen how it all translates to DR etc.
GX7 had chroma noise but resolution score still better than E-P5, what is joke ?
Hmmmm … by the way, any Auto ISO with Min Shutter Speed this time?
(never use Panasonic before, thinking about leaving Nikon because my Bicepts are getting too big… LOL)
I can say older Panasonics (I had GH2 and have GX1) didn’t allow you to set a minimum shutter and it wasn’t very smart (didn’t base it on lens attached). I have an Olympus OMD and it’s shutter in P or Auto is based on the focal length and VERY smart. I do also have an Panasonic LX7 (compact) and it DOES allow to set the minimum shutter speed so maybe the newer Panasonics do. Ideally it mimmics Olympus’ logical shutter speed choices. I’m going to hope you could at least set minimum shutter on the GX7, I’d be disappointed if not. Not really for myself but when I pass the camera to my wife or family for several shots.
Goulio Sciorio – the “brand ambassador” – Panasonic will no doubt send you a gift
why so much hate for that guy? There are so many more slimy characters out there. Guilo at least is transparent and straightforward about his engagement.
I’m sure Giulio is grateful for you calling him less slimy. Also, anybody who can’t even properly transcribe another person’s name should think twice before posting.
Meh. You’re right, I guess. :\
(I am the Anonymous as above)
“Goulio Sciorio – the “brand ambassador” – Panasonic will no doubt send you a gift”
In all fairness, Panasonic also supplied review sample to selected members of the Sony NEX forums.
For your convenience I quote here their full, in-depth review of the GX7: “Boo. [BEEP] that tiny sensor [BEEP].”
/s
only people like ming tein and pekka poka are unbiased reviewers right?
Why did the images from e-p5 look like they were used the noise reduction??
I don’t get it
and
If you look carefully, there are no different between JPEG and RAW from e-p5. (seem like picture from Raw was cropped a bit more than the jpeg image)

Is it possible that the review make some mistake??
+1
I noted that three days ago. Simply use the GH3 files, smae sensor. GX7 seems a tad better, but there is little in it.
Jørgen you can’t just compare the GH3 Raw output instead of the Olympus output. It is already known that OMD/EP5 Raw output is already better than GH3.
These sensors perform identical. DxO has shown it, reviewers have noted it. These are identical sensors.
Really?
Please see this Stu5
http://www.camerastuffreview.com/imatest-results-camera/panasonic-gh3-review-imatest-results
It showed that the dynamic range of GH3 is better than that of EM5.
Techradar test is useless!
Raw konverter:
GX7 – Silkypix
E-P5 – Olympus Viewer
DOH!
Even the scene changed from EP5 and G6 to GX7.
“Techradar test is useless!”
Still makes more sense compared to the ePhotozine’s.
Plus Techradar promised to update the review with the results from production camera, which they have recently got from Panny.
I don’t get this white balance issue. I use pro Panasonic video camera, HPX-500 and the auto white balance is pretty much spot on. How come that on their still camera auto white balance suck so much? I find it odd that I would have to develop every picture in RAW just to tune my white balance after.
Can you say “preproduction firmware? Try hard! There, I knew you could do it!
The GH3 has very good AWB, it’s silly to believe the GX7 will be worse.
Stay calm, this Sciorio guy said the sensor is out of this world, he was amazed, much better than E-P5, so keep the faith!
…but he is a dufus.
No, YOU are the dufus. You offer nothing but crap.
Sounds like the Panasonic AWB firmware needs correction. Not a good sign though for GX7.
Honestly, I can’t see any meaningful differences in camera output (noise) between the GX7 and E-P5 (or NEX 6 or Nikon D7100). It seems now is a good time to stop worrying about sensors.
Perhaps the next issue to be tackled by manufacturers should be the old colour management in JPEG? RAW processing makes me sick.
Olympus users have no use for RAW. No wonder they complain about Panasonic jpeg files so much. They love how Olympus makes the jpegs look so contrasty and smooth without the need to use Lightroom.
So what’s wrong with that? I have a life, do you, mr. PP?
Funny: I have an EPL5…how come I shoot RAw mainly and get better pics. Am I not an Olumpys user 🙂
Olympus
Panasonic aren’t a real camera company, unlike Olympus, so you shouldn’t expect them to be able to do things such as auto white balance.
Would that make the a “real” camera company then??
Where do you make this stuff up at?? Panasonic is a much bigger company and has its hand in all different electronics.
Well, he’s completely right. As you said yourself, Panasonic “has its hand in all different electronics”. Panasonic is a huge company making all kind of high-tech electronics, they even make coffee machines and vacuum cleaners. But they have no history in making cameras. They just make them for a decade or so because they are electronic toys as well. They never made analogue cameras whatsoever.
Now compare that to Olympus, Canon, Nikon, you name it. Unlike Panasonic, they have lots of experience in making cameras and optics, as their whole history is grounded on camera-making. Here we are not talking about a decade but (almost) a century!
And from the looks of it, as well as owning 4 cameras from them, I can say they’re doing a fine job. Not to mention also partnering with another camera manufacturer in Fuji.
So go ahead and make excuses. At least Panasonic didn’t release another camera with a large, clip-on VF, from a camera company that’s been around for ages… Now that’s experience!
Yes but you have to remember they just pay to get Leica’s name. So it doesn’t count, that’s even considering that Leica sometimes puts it’s name (gasp) on a Panasonic camera. But on the whole, the Leica people avoid Panasonic people at parties, and cross the street when they see them coming their way.
Dullness!!!
Matsushita and Leica have a 12 years cooperation. Leica makes lens construction in germany and Panasonic produces them.
Well, why would Leica put their brand on an LX7 if it wasn’t a decent camera? If you read a little more carefully, you might find a sign of sarcasm. I’ve owned a few Panasonic cameras and have always been happy with them.
Perhaps, but in a sense, Nikon, Canon and Olympus are slaves to the past, clinging to outmoded models, designs and features. Panasonic and Sony were able to start with a clean slate (sort of). A reason why they partnered with Leica and Zeiss, respectively, to help with design and get some photo cred.
Unfortunately, because of buyers’ conservatism, many forward-thinking products fail to sell well, if at all.
ALL of these companies have positive and negative aspects in their philosophies and product lines. None are perfect.
Well Said.
That’s just silly, you could equally argue Canon, Nikon and Olympus don’t have the electronics heritage that Sony and Panasonic have. So perhaps Oly/Can/Nikon should stick to film?
When Panasonic make a lens comparable to the OM Zuiko 250mm f2, let me know.
Yeah, like the real camera company Olympus, which gets almost all it’s revenue from making things that get stuck up your a$$. 😉
Or Canon that makes more money building printers and other items than camera. Hell even Nikon make lenses for glasses now, and will probably make more money with that than their camera stuff. By the above given definition there are pretty much NO “real” camera companies now.
I for one bought into the m43 camera system, not panasonic or olypmus. I own items from both companies but am a bit panasonic heavy because more of thier items line up with my camera needs. I will probably buy either the E-P5 or the GX-7 sometime in the next year but I will wait to see how it goes (with both).
Now I’m hearing that it’s shipping in October for the U.S. ARRHHG!!
Actually, I’ve been using Panasonic video cameras since the mid 80’s and they’ve always had white balance adjustment and that was before digital photography, was even a dream.
It’s first time I saw a lens attached to a body in the box. And first plastic bag with with zip. I never saw it in boxes.
a lens hood – never seen one in Olympus M43 boxes.. LOL
Geez I don’t know. I’m so on the fence about this camera. Such a nice form factor but that white balance issue. Dunno, is there a way out of this conundrum? Please someone tell me to get a life – or go take some pictures with my inferior camera.
PLS WAIT for the final review :\
Well compare the present mess about the GX7 and the approach to the E-M5 at introduction.
I stil remember P. Pottka graceful introduction to what was to be the distinctive feature of the E-M5.
Two more stops in SNR, meaning both in DR and sensitivity, in one go! Did he indulge in all the little perks? No he didn’t.
Showing that even if embedded one can keep some distance.
Compare to tenor like Sciorio, sold in advance to mummy Panny, and NOT providing the essential data which is the hopefully different SNR.
LOL Panny suckers, keep on the good work 🙂
Pekka, unbiased? Puleeze! He and Robin Wong are so in bed with Olympus it’s amazing they don’t have bed sores.
Are you gonna go bald on your eyelashes as well?
I have lost all my pubes and now I am all pasty white and smooth.
Hmm. Since when the new 14-42mm II ASPH lenses have a plastic bajonett?
I thought they have a metal one. I already saw picture of a metal mount version.
Or is this only the case with the kit 14-42 ones OR just within the US?
No, some are metal and some are not. I read that a couple of days ago. I do not know hwether it is a regional difference. Will look in NL whenever I get the chance.
Yes there are TWO versions. One with a plastic mount, one with a metal mount.
The stand-alone boxed lens supposedly has a metal mount.
The bundled kit lens that comes included with a camera, supposedly has a plastic mount.
The 14-42mm II lens I bought was de-kitted and has a plastic mount. The reviews I’ve seen show a metal mount.
Does the different mount material affect performance? Good question. 😉
If the ONLY difference is the mount, that’s probably fine. Until someone compares both versions, though, we really don’t know if that’s the only difference.
Why don’t you people put as much time, thought, and angst into your phototography instead of wasting your time here? I’ll bet half of you suck and could use more practice taking pictures rather than worrying about things that are meaningless. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that that 0.1% less sensor noise is going to make a difference in your photos because its not. Losers!
people on here are not photographers, they are gear heads. To them it’s about the enjoyment of acquiring and using new technology, bragging rights etc.
Nothing wrong with that at all, it isn’t a put down; but there is a big difference between a passionate photographer and a gear head.
I’ll be the first one here to say something about the reuploaded GX7 jpegs. Colors seems a bit better than E-M5 at ISOs 1600 and 3200. Noise is also better handled by GX7 ( not much better ), but NR settings are unknown, so we don’t know if the comparison is fair. E-M5 images have a bit more detail, but EPZ used different lenses and focal lengths, so it’s hard to speak about sharpness. All in all, GX7 seems to be on par with 16 Mpx Olympus sensor in jpeg, which is good enough for me.
And being the first to talk about the images and not argue with anyone else, it’s logical that my comment should be moderated. Time to revamp the comment system…
Colors are better? They had to REDO the test pictures with manual WB because the colors were awful!
Panasonic fail !
Why do you even bother to post here? Does it compensate in some way for the shallow body part you suffer?
Oh Olympus, you’d have three years to copy the form
factor of the NEX 7.
Seriously, what is stopping you!
Its huge…… Better get a nex or x with good censor and decent lenses.
Nex and “good lenses” in the same sentence? That’s the best laugh I’ve had all week! They say laughing is good for your health, so thank you very, very much!
Huge? Compared to the Nex 6n it’s 2.7mm wider and 3.8mm taller. Wow! It’s almost as big as a 747!
Now then, it is 12mm deeper, if you take the rubber eyecup off of the 6n, but add the rubber eyecup and there isn’t much difference there, either.
At least get your troll facts right.
One significant fact you fail to mention is the reason the NEXs are smaller in size is because they are using a smaller 16:9 3″ screen not at 3:2 3″ screen which enables them to lower the height of screen by 0.2 inches just as Olys Pens do with exception of the EP5 and EM5. This reduces the viewing screen when not viewing in 16:9 because of a significant crop.
What about fuji ……. Shure nex cameras better. This is just showing theendtone of m43 …….. Fact the omd way better than this
“Shure nex”
Shure entered photomarket??? I got to buy me some!!!
Strangely, http://www.shure.com/ doesn’t list any photo products.
LOL
P.S. Still have the voice mic of theirs, purchased in the mid 90s for $80. Best voice mic ever owned, now sadly retired from its glorious music recording career to home karaoke.
It appears the GX7 includes an AA filter.
But I believe the rumors are still right. Bet in a year’s time there will be a new version without the AA filter + bundled with a new Pana Lecia 17.5mm f1.2
Now how’s that for a camera kit??? 🙂
In any case it does not matter, I have pre-ordered mine. I will be happily shooting rather than wait for the next best thing…
Gosh, so much bickering and trolling going on on this thread, it’s off the scale!
This is a joint-venture system, you can use Pany AND Oly lenses/bodies in whichever combination you desire, YOU ARE NOT A PANY/OLY USER! YOU’RE A M4/3 USER, PERIOD! can’t you get it into your tiny little heads ?
What does it matter if Pany has no camera history, they’re making excellent lenses and bodies RIGHT NOW. What does it matter if Oly is filled with yakuzas !? I take photos, they make good cameras, that’s the end of it. Why should anyone care about this kind of BS, who cares about which camera has which sensor, show the me real life results, that’s what matters.
You fanboys and trolls are the cancer of photography.
Tell that to these Ignorant Olympus users.. Not to say they’re all trolls, but there is a lot of them here.
The problem is not trolls, and posting anonymously, which is favouring them.
Far worse is that third party companies, which should certify the data of makers are influenced by sponsorship – see DxO, or DPR.
There are some more or less honest that you can trust, like SLRgear or Lenstip that one can trust about lenses, but bodies?
There is a good example: the E-PL1 was never really celebrated but by users. So in the short run it has become almost impossible to have a clear opinion of a new model, and then with uncivil people it is only to easy to quarrel about *assumed* data.
This is the sad era of viral marketing and internet thugs. Even Orwell didn’t foresee it.
I am an omd user and I for one hope that pana knocks it out of the park with this one. How could this possbly be bad for m43?
+1
anyone that limits themselves to just one brand, is simply reducing their options. If PAN and OLY dredged out the same output, what good would that do? microFourThirds is a system of choices. Instead of flinging shite at each other like caged apes fighting for dominance, enjoy that there is a wealth of choice in; lenses, bodies, designs .. price . . . brands.
I use to have the omd. Then camera fall of my bike buy gh3. I sell gh3 is good for video but for pics olympus is better way better
you had neither. what you have is a room in your mothers basement, a computer and too much time. First you said you sold the GH3, then you said you were selling it, now you had an omd and it fell off your bike on the way to high school i presume. Why are you here?
panny boys are so sad that gx7 is so suck hahaha
Im sad for your grammar.
So, looks like I’m not alone in thinking that the GX7 samples don’t look so good in this sample? They also look a little milky, like the AA filter is super strong or something. Or, perhaps they are not using the same lens?
Olympus makes well sorted cameras, the only limit it had was sensors, and now it’s solved for the best.
Therefore it won’t be easy to dislodge it as the Queen of IQ. Contrary to Panny it knows the worth of a good Jpeg engine, so that even DPR has pains to get better images from RAW.
That has been instead the lifebuoy for Panny, but i has allowed it to ignore the skin colour problem, the WB, and so forth- so a photog. knows what to choose.
Now I will allow that Panny made more interesting lenses for m4/3. However Oly was fighting with an arm tied behind its back, because it was trying to solve the problem of 4/3 lenses.
It will be interesting to see what happens in September, because if the E-M1’s PDAF works as expected you’ll have 30 new Oly lenses on the table, mostly peerless zooms.
Although I will still keep using small primes – the above will be an incredible jump for the system, putting it in the same class of top C&N.
So the disputes ahead are really tasteless, from people who cannot make the lightest prediction. No wonder that they rave and bark like Neanderthals.
If you shrink the techradar E-P5 Raw crop by factor of .955 it is virtually identical to the E-P5 JGP image. (There is the slightest of lighting differences in a couple of areas, barely noticable.) From this I conclude that techradar goofed. What they are publishing as E-P5 raw images are actually a second set of jgp images.
