    1. Agree +1

Reminds me of Microsoft using a Rolling Stones hit as the soundtrack in one of their TV Ads. Somehow or other………the intended message was overpowered and forgotten about.

  1. Somebody out there who use the 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye with Pana GH3? Is the nice big handgrip to big for this small fisheye? Don’t wont to see my right hand on all pictures..

    1. Unless you’ve got shovel sized hands there shouldn’t be problems.
Though I can see possible problems with thicker gloves unless fingers are kept bend in their place. It doesn’t take that much straightening of finger to make index or little finger visible in corner of image.

    1. I might be wrong, but I think they’re exactly the same lens with simply a different commercial name/brand.

  2. The Oly 17mm seems pretty good. Too bad it gets a bad rap from some people. If I didn’t already own the 20mm, I’d consider it.

If it were available in black it would be much more appealing for street shooting.

  3. “My advice to photographers is to shoot your video like you shoot your stills”
I have been doing that for years. I have 3 hard drives filled with half second video clips. Some with the flash going off in the first split second. Doesn’t seem to be working all too well for my videography.

    1. I went through 3 Panasonic video cameras before I came to the conclusion and understanding that movies were not for me.
So the em5 suits well and its video availability is suitable for the occasional use for me.

  4. “try to shoot video like you do wen taking stills” ..thats the right attitude, both are basicly the same discipline, with one have the added dimension of time/movement

  5. Thanks for posting the Nikkei Trendy.net Olympus 75-300mm review, Admin. I was all set to buy it until seeing this, now, well, I’m not so sure… 🙂 !

Seriously, anyone out there read Japanese and willing to provide some idea of their conclusions?

      1. The Panny 100-300 is only $50 less expensive, bigger, heavier, and equivalent performance at best at sharpest resolution apertures based on ePhotozine’s test results. I also have no need for OIS, having an OM-D with 5-axis IBIS.

  6. Alas, several years since in camera software optical correction was introduced, it looks like Lenstip hasn’t yet figured out how to treat it consistently. So when they feel they can’t make up enough “cons” for a lens, they write about “huge distortion at wide end” despite themselves admitting just beforehand that said distortion only occurs outside manufacturer declared focal range of the lens (the 12-35/f2.8) in uncorrected raw files, but nevertheless they fail to mention said extended wide focal range in raw mode amongst the “pros” of the lens, as if didn’t exist at all!

Also, their vignetting measurements differ very much from those in SLR Gear tests for this lens.

    1. He switched over when the GH3 came out. Likes both, but from memory he prefers the GH3 for the ergonomics and external functions available. If I were shooting micro 4/3 in a professional capacity, I’d probably make the switch too.

    1. getting so tired of all the negative off the mark comments, especially if people dont explain why or what. Is it the new fashion to bark without enlighten the others?

    2. I would looooove to see your recent work kavat. I didnt know head size was an important issue when being hired. I gotta go measure my head and update my resume…
