Sony can keep the cross stable, but start walking and you have a problem:

Both terrific cameras. Each according to his/her needs and budget. IBIS becomes more significant with longer lenses, which is where physical stress becomes a bigger factor due to the weight of FF lenses. If this test had been done with a much longer lens, the results probably would have been different.
Hmmm… They probably should have compared the Sony to the E-M5ii.

True – the E-M10 II uses the old generation IS system. The way they were holding the cameras was also a bit weird, but well .. it was digitalrev. They usually make funny videos and not serious tests so I would take it that way.
I wonder if the partner of mr. Northup prefers the Fuji colors by simply judging the images from the (different) backscreens of cameras.
Digitalrev – Hahahahahahaha….. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they had turned off the IS in the Olympus.
What a stupid comparison …whit a pancake lens on the omd he can’t use the finger near the front lens as in the sony….try whit only one hand ….
The E-M10 II has the old stabilizer from the EM-M5(one). Then they are even quoting from the E-M5 II website. That is kinda sad, because everybody knows its improved a lot with first the E-M1 and then it further improved in the E-M5 II.
It would still be a fair compensation if the prizes were roughly the same, but that isn’t the case also.
They should have tested it against the E-M5 II.
comparison between GH4 and A7SII?
if i never forget,GH4 born on Feb 2014 before A7S was released.
that is compare 4K camera 2nd generation to 1st generate.
I would like to see how it performs the Sony with a 300mm lens vs the Zuiko 150mm PRO.
With this lens I get sharp pictures 5 stops slower with my EM1, whose IBIS is not as good as the one in the EM5 mkII.
Shame em10 II is an entry level, try with em5 mark II A KILL and this girl moving with wind ……….
1. if you compare use same lens prime vs prime, zoom vs zoom – there is 25mm f/1.8 if you use 55mm 1.8 Zeiss on A7r mk2
2. A7rII is flagship and E.m10 is entry OMD, Zeiss 55mm lens cost twice or more than omd with lens, A7rII cost 6x more without lens or 8-9x more than e-m10 with kit lens..
3. I would like to try A7rII on even this test because i bet even entry E-m10 got better IBIS than Sony..
And why they didnt test Em5II+Panasonic 42 1.2 vs A7tII+zeiss 50 1.8 in video and in hi-res vs 42mp studio photography ??
IBIS in EM5II is far superior than one in e-m10II
Just to clarify, were they using 50-mm-ish “equivalent” on both, or 50-mm-ish lenses (42 vs 55) on both?
This video might also settle the age-old debate about whether heavier cameras are better for hand-held stabilization.
Mirrorlessons has a good comparison of the E-M1 va A7 Mk II and the 2nd generation IBIS of the Olympus is comparable to the Sony on stills but clearly superior on video.

The Digitalrev video isn’t a very useful comparison as it doesn’t compare the latest IBIS tech from Olympus with the latest from Sony. Hard to take those guys seriously sometimes.
The top of the line Sony is four times the price of the entry leve OMD.
This is an unscientific comparison. Both cameras should be mounted on the same rack and run simultaneously.
I really cannot listen to this guy, sorry.
E-M1 mark 2 with hand-held high res mode where are you? 🙂
I’m in your future, one year from now.
Kinda silly comparison. And a bit long winded to be fun. But like others it should have been the EM5m11 with the grip and a prime lens especially for the stills.
The 5 axis in video is slightly more challenging, but again a much cheaper combo was pretty much on par with the sony.
Just don’t take digitalrev’s video too seriously. It’s more low budget comedy than review.
