Grabbed the black 25 1.8, thanks Admin!

Don’t think, buy. Great lens.
If you have an Oly m43 and you don’t have this lens, drop everything and get it. I love owning and using this lens. Best price yet, too. Somebody should ask, what about the 17mm f1.8: if you can only get one, which? I would challenge the “only one possible” premise and say get both. The bokeh on the 25mm is better and the angle of view is the most natural, get it first. Wait until the 17mm is on sale, and take note of how often you feel the pinch of needing a slightly wider view with the fast aperture. That will help you decide when or if you need the 17mm. Some will be adequately served with a zoom if their habits are outdoors. If I head out the door and know I am going to be shooting groups of people, I generally mount the 17mm before I leave because the chances are good I will shoot quite a lot with it. The other possibility is to shoot with the Panasonic 20mm, but you would have to ask somebody who owns one to be fair. I met a guy in park recently who was shooting an E-PL5 with the 20mm and I asked his opinion. Obviously he had it on camera and was using it, so that like giving 10 points and subtracting 1 for a 9 score on account of the gear-wound, not-instantaneous auto focus he mentioned. I suspect it is true, that it is quite hard to implement a pancake lens any other way, at the moment, otherwise Panasonic would have corrected the deficiency. It is not major, and I did ask myself which I would notice the most often, the tiny difference in sharpness, or the obvious, repetitive wish that the focus would snap in quicker. I chose the 17mm f1.8, and I have not regretted it.
Nice comment. I currently have the E-PL6 with the 12mm f/2.0 and the 14-42mm kit lens. I want to get get the 40-150mm f/2.8 lens and then the 25mm f/1.8 in that order. I know the telephoto zoom lens is going to look huge on my camera. But i’m going to hold out till the next E-M1 comes out before upgrading the camera body.
So to what you said first about dropping everything to get it. I want to get it. But only after I spend a huge amount on the 40-150.
Would you consider changing to the 25mm f/1.0 if it comes out though?
It is tempting, yes! Depends on the coin, whether enough coming in would cover that going out. I have slow 12-50mm, and boring 40-150mm, plus 45mm, 25mm, and 17mm f1.8 lenses, and I am having a ball. I often think my next lens will be the 12-40mm f2.8, but the Panasonic fisheye that can be easily de-fished in DxO distracts me quite a lot too. If I get my hands on an E-M1 type camera, the old 14-54mm-II lens, f2.8-3.5 would be an obvious candidate too. I think that ship sailed though. The contrast detect on the m43 works perfectly, no lust for the phase detect lens anymore.
Depending on how quick they are to release the 25mm f/1.0 I may consider it. I am preferential to the focus clutch mechanism which is absent on the 25mm f/1.8. But it’s a small thing. Probably the biggest thing is, is exactly what you said, it’s price. I don’t know if i could justify paying double the price for f/1.0. Though it’ll probably have other features like weather sealing – which I don’t need, yet.

Best lens I own. Size is perfectly matched to my EM5ii.
All gone! But I agree with everyone else, this is a great lens. Watch the Olympus refurb store if you are in the US. It sells for about $320.
There are four lenses that are must buy for m4/3:
Olympus 17/1.8, 25/1.8, 45/1.8 and 12-40/2.8.
The three first are primes and should be bought if low light (1.3 EV faster) features are important. Otherwise the zoom will beat those in sharpness (as any 135 format lens from canon/nikon out there) and flexibility, but you lose 1.3EV benefit and depth of field is as well little deeper. But you get weather sealing.
12mm, 25mm, 45mm, 75mm
this lens came out too late for me …thats why I went for pana 25mm f/1.4
…otherwise …this lens is better value for money ..but not for somebody who already have 25mm
