I’m a Fuji user but to be honest the sony images looks better.

  The thing is that it is not mentioned hoe the images were created.. Raw or JPEG, what converter? What settings?
  
  Interesting though to see the Batis having such good corner sharpness! I wonder is that is simply because of a different field curvature of the fuji, a tiny bit of mis-focus, different camera position, or just the lens… These things are very difficult to get right. Still, the Bati is remarkably sharp.

I am a Sony user to be surprisingly honest Fuji images are simply out of this world. For a camera as small and cheap as they are, lens one third of the price of Sony’s I am simply gobsmacked in their output…Well done Fuji! Competition is always good

“The Fuji colours” shined with X-100. No supprice it has Bayer CFA. They were spoiled with X-Trans CFA and look artilical and unnatural with magenta cast pushed. Sony’s look much better. If you want to see great Fuji colours, buy X-A1/X-A2 or old X-100.

  They still do if you know how to use the camera and correct settings. Many don’t. I have and x100 and x-T1, the fuji colors are stunning with the x-t1. X

I’d agree that the bokeh looks a bit better on the Fuji, but aside from that the Sony pics looked better, IMO.

I’m kind of blown away at how the Contax keeps up and, at least to my eyes, has at least as good contrast as the Zeiss and frankly better than the Fuji. Of course, I own this lens and love it 🙂

Correct would have been to compare the FUJIFILM 90mm to the Zeiss 85mm.

Battle of the Portrait Lenses: X-T1 + 56mmF1.2 Vs. A7II + Zeiss Batis 85mmF1.8 … “The Fuji Colors Shine”

Admiringlight compares the X-T1 + Fuji XF 56mmF1.2 and the A7II + Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 (with the Contax G 90mm thrown in for fun)!

Admiringlight says, that these are all “stellar” optics and there is no clear winner (“we’re sort of splitting hairs at this level“). Here are some of hits findings:

Both, the Fuji 56 and the Zeiss Batis 85 are “exceptional” lenses. Thanks to the X-Trans sensor, the samples taken with the 56mm show less moire. Wide open the Batis is sharper in the corners. And what about the bokeh:

“Well, I think the Fuji’s bokeh looks nicer here. It’s subtle, but it’s smoother and the lower contrast is very pleasing, and the Fuji colors shine.”
