          1. at the end of the year ..10 months yet! we talk about…cep 2016?? a tons of new models by Sony/Samsung/Canon/Nikon will be announced! first.

A new generations of camera are coming..!

          2. OMG ! 10 months ! a new generation is coming ! so your body won’t work anymore; And the quality of your images will suffer from it. And you must have NOW the latest gen otherwise you will miss so many opportunities,
            What about jumping ship ?

          3. why did you buy x-t1 model? nikon d2 is already used after 8 years on International Space Orbit ! We talk about innovation and fuji imho it’s not a innovation compay anymore. if you like old technology.stop to read these comments on digital display…you can read comments in a monthly newspaper….

          4. Why the X-T1 – for it’s form factor mainly and usability. Why the XE-1 before ? because a severe tendinitis force me out of my Nikon Pro bodies. Like old technology ? – No, not particularly, but I never force my clients to buy new computers when older one are perfectly functional. My big development computer is 9 years old, works like a champ; I could buy a brand new one probably 4-5 times as fast but would not make me a better developper. Same with a camera. Specs comparable to the X-T1, at a fraction of the price would do me nicely as a second body.

          5. Not to mention, its nice to have time to get a cup of coffee while the code is compiling. Fast computers cut down on coffee time. 😀

  1. a big Yawn and a Boooo! why not improve the XE-2 to X-T1 level? this DSLR wana be craze is getting silly Fuji…

    1. LOL. 1 wannabe SLR and 1 wannabe upcoming SLR. 4 wannabe Rangefinders and 2 upcoming wannabe Rangefinder. Fuji sure is part of the wannabe SLR craze. The X-E2 will be upgraded to the X-E3 in good time.

  2. Can I just post what everyone is thinking:

NOT INTERESTING! I WANT NEWS OF CUTTING-EDGE NEXT-GEN FUJI SENSORS WITH INDUSTRY-LEADING DYNAMIC RANGE, FANTASTICALLY FAST GLASS, NEW HIGH-END STUFF I CAN DROOL OVER!

(not criticising your site Patrick. Just echoing the assumed consensus here 🙂

          1. only rumors..since 2013.
x-pro2 doesn’t exist! the next model will be a plastic x-t10 with no WR, no evf, 100k display and…2 mpx..wifi? no, app? what is an app? 😉

        1. Ok, the X-Pro2 will come, presumably this year, and it will offer good IQ, presumably very good, good dynamic range, presumably arguably the best in the industry, will cost a pretty penny, presumably a gorgeous penny, and may make you a slightly better photographer, but arguably it won’t.
There, now you can read about it 🙂

    1. Please don’t shout. (uppercase!!!) Fantastic fast glass: all recent announcements / deliveries (16-55; 50-140; 90) plus existing glass (35/23/56 to name a few) do fit your definition. For the XPro2 you’ll have to wait the end of 2015; Not interesting is just for you, some people may/will be very interested. I could see this baby X-T1 join his big brother in my bag as a sparing partner for example.

    2. Have you shot with any of the current fast Fuji lenses; primes or zooms? These lenses are amazing! Maybe it’s not “high end” enough, as you put it. But if you can’t achieve great results, it may not be the equipment that needs attention. Remember it’s not the piano, it’s the piano player. Food for thought…

  3. At least they don’t skip on the image quality… Nevertheless, bad idea fuji. Please bring out interesting stuff!

  4. noo…another model because they don’t have ready x-pro2 yet.
..how many years we have to wait for new x-trans sensor?
x-t10 cheap? no sense, after 2 years fuji can reduce the price of x-t1 if they want to sell more (no WR?..another limitations! cheap sony model have !!..no comments!!)

  5. i might be the minority here, but the possibility of getting a cheaper x-t1 version (with same sensor and software features) somwhat excites me. my money all went to good glass (14, 23, 35, 56) and at this point, some money savings on a body will be more than welcome… well, unless fuji brings the x-t1 price down some more (or upgrades the x-e2 with e-shutter).

  6. What is wrong with you people?
Xpro 2 is around end of the year (?) supposedly…. We know this, so why keep going on about it?

I don’t see anything at all wrong with xt-10 release, they did it with ex1 so why not.. You don’t want it? Fine don’t buy it….

Same with the 16-55 ‘no ois’ lens, oh no what have Fuji done, this is the worst idea ever, they clearly don’t know what they are doing, company in decline….. Then the lens comes out, great reviews, ois not a deal breaker anymore and people stopped complaining….

Do Canikon fans bitch about every release they don’t want? Can’t imagine they do…. If it’s not what you want then automatically Fuji have fucked up according to the few that sulk cause it’s not their turn for toys

Incidentally, Canikon’s pro range of cameras rotate every 3-4yrs… Which is no more or less than fuji are doing and doing it to get it right

    1. Around end of the year? Says who? It’s only a rumor, not a fact. There were a lot of rumors for release in 2014 too, but it didn’t happen.

      1. I agree!!! Fuijfilm market share falling down last year from 9% to 4.5%…why?..only rumors, no innovation, it talk about cheap model…imho…at the end of the year..Market Share are going to be… 2%. (from 4.5%)
the facts are real!: less less less people buy fujfilm products.
You can love (like me) fuji products..but the market say…goodbye.

          1. Er, guys…. It says it on the info about the xpro2…. The article about 4k, down the bottom where it lists the rumoured specs, well one of them says release end of 2015…… I said ‘supposedly’ you muppets

‘Who says’, ‘what’s your source’?? Seriously….we are talking about rumours, I said xpro2 is end of the year ‘SUPPOSEDLY’……. What.. Where… Huh… New news… What’s your source… How you know…I just read the articles on here like everyone else

          2. Though the ‘what’s your source’ was not directed at me i see now, so Ill retract one of the people I intended it for…. That’s you ‘Ulf’…. No points pointed at Ulf…

    2. Absolutely right on the money – except for one thing: – Canikon fans DO bitch about every release they don’t want – and you get all the Canikonuser of the world predicting doom and gloom to the Brand, Showing how great products are around the corner in the competition, and That’s it they switch brand.

      … unfortunately …

      1. And I strongly suspect that Canikon fans post a lot of the negative comments on here, as the comments are generally in stark contrast to those on the user forums, who actually use Fuji cameras and lenses.

  7. If the price is right this might be an interesting back up body. Yet if the price is too close to a used or refurbished Xt1, better off with that option instead.

    1. yes, sony are going to show a cheap model (full frame!, wr).. I don’t want a cheap model with tons of limitations…

  8. People are going to post “Where is the X-Pro2” on every rumor post? Asking more often is not going to make it come any sooner than this fall.

    1. Does’nt it remind you of the “Are we there yet ?” questions all moms/dads have had at least once on the way to the holidays 🙂

  9. Sure are some whiny people here. Life’s short. Get out there and take pics with what you have. Nothing coming out from any vendor is likely to be more substantial than the last. Not until there’s a breakthrough, which may not happen for years.

  10. The X-Pro2 is not coming at the end of this year end of story. This is an urban legend. By the way where is the WR sealed 16mm 1.4 that shows on the lens roadmap as coming in the first half of this or sooner?

    1. You do realize that it’s not July yet, right? They have 3 more months to release it. I don’t know, or really care that much, if a X-Pro2 comes out but whether it does or not doesn’t spell victory or doom. It’s just a camera for crying out loud, not a weapon of mass destruction.

    2. Most people seem to agree on the fact that the first half of the year runs till end of June. They have 4 months left..

  11. This will be the camera that will make Fuji profitable at the end of this year. It’s exactly what most people want. The XT1 sold so much because of the form factor, and a cheaper XT1 can only be a good thing. Go make some money Fuji, then come back with an awesome but unprofitable niche camera that we’ll love but the market won’t. One for you, one for them as they say.

    1. completely wrong, what “most people” want isn’t a fuji at all, they just want one of those black camera things that’s better their iPhone. “most people” just want an entry level Canon – it’s easier to use, faster to focus, has tons of cheap lenses and all their friends have one.

that leaves the enthusiasts. the photographic community is pros + enthusiasts + “most people”. Pros are going to buy Canon and Nikon because they need the best image quality, the fastest focus and the best range of lenses, flashes etc. Then the enthusiasts market is what’s left. Do they want a cheap version of the X-T1 – maybe, but I doubt it. To use one of these you need to sink some money into lenses which dwarf any small saving of a few hundred dollars on the body. Especially one that’s just not competitive anymore. The people that are buying Fuji (not the X100T, that’s a different market altogether) are ones that already have $$ in lenses. If you don’t have legacy lenses to force you into a brand then there are many better alternatives right now.

  12. Who really needs this camera? Fuji is determined to water down/dumb down product lines. Nothing about it appeals. Seems to be in contradiction to management’s declaration that they are going after the high end user.

    1. Short term one can see a contradiction but it gives some coherence to the system after the X-T10
They’ll get two lines of entry in the X-System
      – SLR shape/layout (X30, X-T1, XT10)
      – Rangefinder shape/layout X-100/X-E/X-PRO

Quite unique in the industry and pretty clever I should think

      1. Yes, too bad Olympus didn’t think about rolling out a model with either a real or a faux prism finder, as well as a flattop camera model. Too bad Samsung didn’t do it. Too bad Nikon didn’t do it. Too bad Panasonic did not. Too bad Sony does not have any such models. That would have been pretty clever of them, but they all waited for Fuji to do it first.

      2. Fuji say “we don’t earn anything from cheap model, but only with high end model”…why? (as fuji say) who buy high-end model buy more (and top) lens a cheap user..user only a kit …no money came later…now,Fuji..change its idea?

        1. So many reasons :
          -Brand recognition;
-Brand diffusion : more people know/talk about your products you increase your chances to sell,
          – Keeps the manufacturing line busy;
          – No money on cheap model is not the same as no money on kit lenses (the whole industry earns much more on lenses than on bodies)
          – As soon as a client is YOUR client you increase your chances to sell him/her something later;

Fill yourself the rest using what you’ve got between the ears.

    2. God some people moan on here. Its not a contradiction at all, it is a cheaper version of the xt1, just like xe1 is the cheaper version of the xpro. I wonder if all the people complaining on here will actually buy the xpro2..?

        1. If you want to hear whining just hustle on over to Nikon Rumors, or maybe even Canon Rumors. Because some here don’t understand the purpose of this downgrade doesn’t mean they are whining. I for one will be among the first to buy an X- Pro2 if I deem it to be a worthy replacement for my 1. And I’m not in a huge hurry to see the new camera. It will be ready when Fuji thinks its ready and that is a good thing.
But to whine over people not thinking every decision Fuji makes is in itself rather sophomoric.

  13. If Fuji would just let us be able to turn completely off the noise reduction I think this one will be a hit too.

    1. It is impossible to turn of “noise reduction” completely with a color array filter sensor. You can of course take the raw file and work with that on your own.

      1. That excessive NR is not on the X-Pro/XE1 so it has nothing to do with the Xtrans color array.

        1. Maybe. But reduction and deactivation are two very different things. Also the phase detection pixels spread over the X-Trans II might require different settings.

  14. By the time they release the camera that same old 16mp sensor is fairly antiquated before it even leaves the store.

    1. Antiquated and which won’t be able to take any picture (how dare they take this old sensor out of it’s retirement home, with all these new 50mp sensors only waiting to be put to work ?).

The point is : X-T10 is supposed to be a cheaper/simpler body sporting the X-T1 dress code.

      1. So who is the market for this smaller and lacking everything that makes the X-t1 special aimed at?

        1. 1st time Fuji buyers who are concerned about having a single fixed lens (X100) or don’t care that much for the rangefinder look (X-E, Xpro) and find the X-T1 too expensive –

2nd body from an X-T1; If the ergonomics is the same

I will all depends on the price/specs point Fuji decides to place teh X-T10 at, it could well be a really good seller.

As for ” lacking everything that makes the X-t1 special” we don’t KNOW that, do you ?

          1. We don’t KNOW a lot of things but the rumors feel more like Fuji leaks: Name: X-T10 (SRP + NeS)

            – cheaper version of the X-T1 (SPR + NeS)
            – no weather sealing (SRP)
            – smaller EVF (SRP)
            – same sensor of X-T1 (NeS)
            – coming late spring/early summer (SRP

The rest of the potential buyers you list should add up to 8, maybe 10 if you push it. Do you really think lots of people buy Fuji cameras because they don’t like the rangefinder look? That and being mirrorless is really what got the X-system off the ground?

          2. So far – apart from the smaller EVF (comparable to the one existng in the x-E2?), I don’t see many minuses compared to the X-T1.

Now that the X-Series is off the ground; thanks to it’s IQ, rangefinder look and size/weight (mirrorless), and considering that the X-T1 seems to be a real commercial success, it does not sound stupid /to me/ for Fuji to create an entry level SLR like body, based on tried and tested elements, to try and gain some market shares and reach to NEW customers.

            That’s all I am saying.

  15. Just my 0.02 – grab the X-T1 – If you can afford it w/o selling a limb that is- we know that the X-T10 will be a lesser X-T1 – in what way lesser is still unknown; I trust Fuji to come up with a nice body, but who knows ?

The X-T1 has one major advantage over the X-T10 : it is available, has been tried and tested many times over you know (or can find easily) exactly what most people love & like/dislike about it; You can have it in your hand before committing … You won’t be in the same position before at least a year with the X-T10

  16. I like the X-T10 and it makes sense for me given that none of my Fuji lenses (the 18, 27, 35 and 60mm primes and the 16-50mm zoom) has WR. But I wonder what the price will be. $899 U.S. perhaps at the start? I wish I had a crystal ball because I can pick up a brand-new X-E2 body for $699 U.S. right now.

  17. It will be very interesting to see what price it sells for. The xe2 is far cheaper than thh he xt1 (but it has been out a while). If it’s too close to the used/refurbished price of an xt1 I believe its too expensive

    1. I think that is the price it needs to be also. The xe2 is selling for that at bh. $1100 max. I reckon it would be smarter to put the xa2 sensor in it and sell it for even cheaper (further differentiates itself from the top dog ie the xt1)

  18. Depending on features and price, if it was bundled with the new 35mm f2, I’d certainly consider it…remember the old film days when you got a decent 50mm instead of cheap kit zoom.

  19. ha ha this is just some marketing misdirection to give you all something to talk about. Fuji is going more toward high end and the release of the XPro2 and the X200 will show that this year.
