Shouldn’t you have a Pro equipment first?
Always is if you use it as such.
If the camera or the system doesn’t make you a pro or provide pro quality, then why don’t those pro photographers you’re referring to use cheaper systems instead of Fuji’s? You should use your phone camera and don’t have to spend extra money on an extra camera!
And people do. Whatever you’re comfortable with.
Great to see the company offer this, and promising for the future.
When in Japan ???
If you live in Tokyo, Osaka or Fukuoka, there are Fujifilm Service Stations you can go to that provide similar services. You will need ID and a credit card (not sure if foreign credit cards are accepted) for renting lenses. I am not sure if you can rent camera bodies though. Hope this helps.
This could be very promising. Besides getting a replacement while having equipment cleaned or repaired, it looks like you could rent a body or lens to try out or back gear for a booked gig. This could be really cool if they carry good inventory and a nice alternative to local and online rental shops that cater more to Canikon users.
Come on! This and all those nice Deals?!
I can’t move to the US, I like it here in Europe
So please Fuji 🙂
You (and me) will have to blame the exchange-rates for the deals. 😉
When in …Europe? never!
ok Fuji, now do that in Europe too or we (pro) could never trust in your service.
I sent to repair a Fuji x100t with burned pixel and they told to wait 3/4 weeks!
That’s pretty a long time for a normal user, think for a pro.
Not to talk about the fact that Fuji Italy didn’t want to change my camera and it was defective from the starting, with three area with pixel burned. They said it’s normal, every sensor has pixel burned and every sensor is remapped a probably the one in my camera hasn’t. (I never ever had such a problem with Nikon and Canon)
They said they would remap the sensor but it’s not sure that the problem will be solved and that there is a tolerance for this kind a problem.
So read that I should keep the camera defective. Obviously I would call my lawyer instantly if the camera doesn’t give a totally clean file.
I like very much Fuji cameras and I was waiting for xPro2 to maybe change my system (actually using Nikon D4 and D800, never had a problem) but I’m sorry I don’t trust Fuji anymore, at least Fuji Italy.
why you didn’t approve my comment?
oh yes, of course, you don’t have nothing to earn from my comment. I know that a lot of people is having my same pixel burned problem. I will found other places where to share my experience. Here is just business and adv. If you wanna answer me [admin: I contacted the person with the email shared, and he doesn’t know anything about the comment. He told me somebody else is using his identiy. I will blacklist this user]
This is a very good move, and a very expensive one. Not to mention a risky one, but it’s a great sign when Fuji is willing to invest in the infrastructure to really support its products.
because I have a life beyond FujiRumors, and I can’t be online continously to approve comments. The first thing I did as soon as I turned on my Mac, right now, was approve comments 😉
How dare you have a life beyond FujiRumors, we poor users demand our hourly shot of rumors or we switch brands.
I take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work btw.
Please let your email verify at disqus, and no manual approval is needed.
Otherwise you have to wait that I get into internet to approve them (approve comments is the first thing I do when I turn on my computer).
wrote you an email too… but franky, I wrote posts & approved comments in the short breaks of my day job, while lunch break, in busses, while a good friend was dying and I stayed with her husband & his 2 year old kid, slept at their home, played with the kid, talked to my friend, and when they went to bed… when they went to bed I wrote posts and approved comments.
So I’m very sorry, that, sometimes, I’m not super-fast with comment approval. I do my best, but I have a life beyond FR
Now I can only hope such service for Europe will become available too!
Please Fuji – You can’t stay behind in the biggest camera market of the world!
You mean, of the old world?
Having some hot and/or dead pixels are normal with any camera brand. Most of the modern DSLRs remap themselves (or RAW conversion software does that) though, so Canikon pixel peepers use some wicked tricks trying to figure out exactly how many bad pixels their cameras have. You may want to try exposing a dark frame (with lens cap on) on your beloved D4 and developing it in some exotic converter that doesn’t do a pixel mapping to get a grip on reality. Some Nikons show hot pixels loudly and proudly when you shoot video.
Now for the repair turnaround times, I agre. That’s unacceptable. Had my X-T1 repaired by Fujifilm Russia (remapping, fixing light leaks and switch replacement)… Took them over 2 months. Two freakin’ months!
Fuji Belgium is equally bad. I had an horrific customer experience concerning an X-E2 with a faulty sensor (hot pixels AND smear)
Same in Canada! The service is pathetic!
A Pro customer service is awaited as much as a pro (OK, just a near-pro is enough, just to be better than current) Fuji X flash system.
(I am also waiting for some X100s kaizen that had to come 18th January. Maybe 18th Jan. 2016? 🙂 )
(As far as I found, there is not a single Fuji service any more here in Serbia)
I’m glad that Fujifilm is professionalizing more and more, including the issue of the after sales support. Unfortunately my impression is that in Europe we’re still waiting for the same kind of response. The moments I had to deal with a repair in my country, I got in a disappointing follow up of repair actions. To do worse than the major players (which have outsourced this kind of activities to not very brilliant and extremely slow ‘third party repair centers’ just to save money, not to help the customers) is already a challenge, well, they were able to beat that sad record in my case. I hope Europe is also on Fuji’s list now.
Fuji, You badly need to put pixel remapping into your firmware updates
I have found dead pixels on my X-T1 and have to go through sending it away for a fairly long period of time to fix it when I could easily do it at home with software!!!!!! Not happy at all
