Three elements in three groups, doesn’t get much simpler than that; should be inexpensive to manufacture.
1930 called, they want their lens back.
Hahaha now that’s pure gold 😀
That’s why it is so expensive… the time travel!
I read somewhere that the company just bought the old Meyer Görlitz name and is now re-branding lenses from Chinese companies like Zhong Yi Optics and Russian manufacturers in slightly different housings and not quite so slightly different pricing.
It’s pretty funny if you consider that they are asking about 1700€ for this, where you could just buy the Fuji XF 90mm f2 for 900€ that, judging by the samples, just destroys this in every respect.
Price was announced in Germany: €1,699. Yes, 1,699, no typo, no joke from my side.
Another way overpriced, overrated and underdesigned lens from that company. Like anyone sane would buy that.
Because it’s kind of cool looking, german branded, and expensive. For many that is the draw. Oh, I wish I could be one of them.
Well I’m from Germany and I don’t think this “thing” represents the brand Made in Germany in any way. It’s an old design with 3 lens elements. So little to no research costs and very little costs for materials and yet such an inflated price tag. Sorry but as a German, I think such a brand behavior is an insult.
because it is sooo difficult to make a 3-element lens LOL
