RUMOR: Lightroom Plug-in for Mac tethered shooting available in August (New Source) – HS-V5 FW Update (ver. 1.1a)

Tethering for Mac

I really hope this rumor, coming from a new source, is right: the long awaited Adobe tethered shooting plug-in will be available for download in August at the Adobe Exchange site.

In the meantime, FXF member SteveMcN was apparantly able to get the plug-in directly from Fujifilm via WeTransfer. He said he will check the plug-in and report back in this FXF Thread. If you don’t want to miss SteveMcN’s report, join the Fuji X Forum, click on this thread and select “Follow This Thread” to get an email notification, as soon as he has shared his findings.

Tethering for Windows

Windows users can purchase the HS-V5 software for tethered shooting in Europe at AmazonDE, AmazonUK, AmazonITA, AmazonFRA and AmazonESP… still not available in USA.

NOTE: Fujifilm already released a firmware update for the HS-V5 (ver. 1.1a). You can download it at Fuji’s site here.

Fujifilm really messed it up with the tethered shooting. Feel free to share your frustration here.

  1. I don’t get it : regardless of win/mac , does one have to buy the software, download and install the adobe lightroom plugin to tether? Or can one just download the plugin and tether, without buying the software?

  2. Hate to hijack a thread, but not sure how else to ask. Does anybody else type in Fujirumors in Chrome and get redirected to slidoo.com? I can see some loose affiliations to Slidoo/Fujirumors, but I’m not sure what’s going on. IE is fine. Thanks!

      1. No issues. Thank-you. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me. Or worse, that somebody had hijacked my DNS or something. Thanks for your great work and kindness.

  3. Oh, already in August 2015? That’s really quick, given that the plug-in has only been around since November 2014. So only 9 months from finishing the product to place it in an app store. Well done, Fuji!

Btw, isn’t 1.1a the current version of HS-V5?

  4. anybody got idea on the battery life on that when you do thether it? or will the XT1 charge as you plug it view USB?

  5. Ok, I’m not holding my breath. I’m thinking this is going to be another issue of the same software, which will still require HS-V5 (because that’s what it’s been so far, despite several people working with the LR plug in since last year).

    Sigh. Will it ever happen?
