Well, the new Fuji US deals offensive simply works!
The X-T1 is the current bestseller at the Amazon US ranking (Click here to see the full list). And among the lenses the 23 and 56mm primes are doing fine (Full Mirrorless+SLR lens ranking here). Would be great if Fuji could launch such rebate actions worldwide so that every FR reader could benefit from them!

I’m about to sell my 10-24. I got it at the cameraland sale through fujirumors so i saved some money buying it. I’m willing to past the savings to someone else. does anyone want it before I list it on eBay?
*admin, delete this post if it violates any rules etc*
What is the Price?
$700 + shipping sound fair?
Know what would also sell really well and probably top the charts?
An XPro1s ! 😉
Unsurprising, and underscoring what I’ve been saying all along about the mirrorless cameras… they just cost too darn much. Keep the prices dropping, you WILL find a market.
It’s about time the price reductions manufacturers enjoy from eliminating reflex mirrors and correcting lenses via software are passed along to consumers.
What is the fuzz about fuji???
Two major problems:
1. Flash sync 1/180 (interchangeable lens series mot x100 series) and no competitve flashes out there with TTL support sth still …even we could expect sth. in the near future
2. BIGGEST problem: Raw conversion/workflow and results…compare any camera with a good bayer sensor lets say the ricoh GR to one with the new xtrans sensor technology II you will easily see in raw files (converted via ACR side-by-side with the Fuji) that the files have aliasing along fine detail/ hard edges and there is obviously a color problem and often they are also containing.smearing and horrible artifacts…..
I hipe the xpro two with the xtrans III is much better….and i can finally switch completley to fuji….excellent controls and ergonomics and split screen focusing is gorgeous….focus peaking could be better sony a 7 series has still the edge there but fuji comes very close second better than none a la dslrs….
I totally agree with you /statement and your points are absolutely valid!
You are not the only one saying this other even wiser and longtime experienced pros are confirming these issues/big problems too ask Ming Thein, Lloyd chambers…..
Just because someone runs an internet blog doesn’t mean they are wiser than any given anonymous poster.
Many Fuji users will say it is not the camera that is the problem, it’s is the fault of the raw converter vendors.
This is kind of a facile argument. Because Fuji is in the business to make money with its very nice product line, but it doesn’t play well with other products consumers use. Instead of delivering product that consumers can readily convert into excellent end result, it’s easier to blame the raw converter companies, or the consumers, or anybody but product management that delivers a line that is challenging to work with. I mean, why even risk such a controversy, guys?
agree. but have you tried capture one pro 8
Both of these issues would only bother a minority of photographers. most people who buy into Fuji X are probably unaware of or unconcerned with either issue.
It is a big world out there, far away from the forums and rumor sites.
you mean Fuji X users are unaware or unconcerned with image quality issues? So people who buy Fuji cameras only use jpeg, they are missing out a lot of what a camera can do, they start out with most of the original image information missing.
and flash sync speed affects nearly everyone that bothers to spend >$1000 on a camera at some point. Maybe not the p&s crowd, but being able to use flash in daylight is a concern.
Sony A7 not only does focus peaking better, but has faster flash sync speed, has high speed sync options, doesn’t smudge in raw conversion and has better sensor, higher resolution, lower noise and easier to post process. Fuji X100s is a great little camera in jpeg mode, awesome leaf shutter and for snapshots delivers great results. I don’t expect much of an advanced compact like the X100s, but from the X-T1 I think time has come to expect more from Fuji. Maybe they should just drop raw support and be done with it.
try capture one pro 8
I agree with all of this. It is basically all of the above as to why my entire Fuji kit is up on ebay at the moment. I’ve been shooting them since the X-E1 came and have had the x100s and x-t1, but finally grew tired of all the extra work arounds in my workflow because of the raw files. The results weren’t as good as my Nikon full frame kit and required double the work.
I love the shooting experience of working with the Fuji cameras, but the raw files and sometimes questionable AF led me to leave. If it was just one of those things, but after the AF failed me on a few gigs when I was in Europe I was basically finished with it.
I still really like Fuji as a company and they have a great philosophy. I’d like to come back in a few years when they develop some new sensor technology and after the AF steadily improves. They’ve been doing a good job with AF so that’s only a matter of time, but the raw files…I don’t know.
Quote “1. Flash sync 1/180 (interchangeable lens series mot x100 series) and no competitive flashes out there with TTL support sth still …even we could expect sth. in the near future”
The 1/180 flash synch is not the big problem a lot of people make it out to be, the problem is the absence of a good TTL flash system.
Nikon have recently introduced the D750 with a flash synch of 1/200, only 1/20th second faster, but have what is probably the best TTL flash system there is. A lot of pro wedding and event photographers are buying D750’s, either because of the lighter weight compared to the D4, trading in D700’s or moving from Canon because of the superiority of the sensor’s low light performance. They don’t see the 1/200 flash synch as a problem.
I shoot weddings on d700. I’ll add d750 on the next wedding as secondary camera. I love my x-t1 and x100s for family and landscape shooting. Want to know why I’ve abandoned the idea of x-weddings as soon as I’ve tried it once? Yes, one of the serious reasons is lack of not just usable ergonomics TTL flash but wireless TTL one. Others are:
-catastrophic af performance with 56/1.2
-one stop worse iso performance
-less dof due to smaller sensor
-lack of 70-200/2.8
-slow ergonomics both in terms of button placement and camera reaction.
Even though 50-140 is coming, first test shots are totally disappointing in terms of bokeh. Standing alone Every of one of them is not critical but take all six together and it’s terrible on the wedding. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t want fuji to have larger sensor to get rid of two of the problems. I love the size of the lenses. I don’t won’t other 50-140/2.8 because it will be huge anyway. (I’d like a 135 fixed lens) I don’t want different buttons placement as retro style is great. It’s just made not for my style of wedding shooting. I’d have to buy other lenses to shoot landscape and family anyway. So why not to buy another system that’s perfect for this kind of things.
1. I don’t care about flash (and most people too).
2. Use proper RAW convertors like Capture One.
Reason for these deals (which I’m into) is that now the competition is getting real tough. Just read on Sonyalpharumors that a next generation E-mount FF is coming very soon with a continuous drive of 11 FPS just as the A6000.
I think Fuji have to update their drivespeed as well in concert with faster and better focussing within the whole APSC frame. This all packed in a awesome KAIZEN update.
This should not be a Kaizen update as fuji needs not just firmware update but the new sensor totally filled with phase detection points not just the center area. I hope X-Pro2 will be the first to get as close to A6000 as possible.
