I’m glad someone made a focus peaking video. When I mentioned this to people in various places the general response seemed a bit defensive towards Fuji. I’m all for Fuji, but it would be amazing for them and all other companies to adopt the same peaking system as the Sony cameras. I found it more enjoyable to use.
The Sony colour peaking is better. You have to think that things like patterns may prevent others from just copying the exact feature though. Is the peaking the same from other manufacturers?
From when I tried for a brief moment, the GH4 and OMD1 seem similar to Fuji’s but without the white highlights.
patents
Auto-corrections thanks.
I totally agree. I have NEX 5 and FP is better than my X-T1
while I agree that the sony is far better at focus peaking, it’s hard taking any photographic advice from someone who shoots a video into the light so we can’t actually see the screen properly. Anybody with even the slightest photographic abilities would have spotted this and re-shot
+1
In the “Lenses” section, “the Japanese site mobile01” that posted a XF10-24 review is actually a Taiwanese website.
thanks, corrected
Thanks for your prompt response.
I think it was soundimageplus who mentioned it, but whoever it was, I agree fully: Fuji needs to recognize that Silkypix and Adobe are not optimal, and that they need to provide a Fuji based processor. From my tests and usage, the in-camera processor is the best raw converter, but it is still limited to saving as a jpeg.
So, Fuji, please wake up and address this issue ~ ability to convert raw files to 16-bit TIFF in-camera, or your own bare-bones raw converter is necessary.
Even with ACR 8.4?
I just got Iridient software. So far I am impressed!
Fuji gotta improve the focus peaking function and its colors.
The sensor of the A6000 is one generation ahead of the one in the X-T1, so I guess Fuji will get the better focus peaking when they get the newer sensor from Sony (X-T2?) Not sure if they could just fix this with a firmware update for the old sensor.
FP on Sony has always been better, has nothing to do with a newer sensor. Lets pray for Kaisen to fix it.
