LAST CALL: Zeiss Touit Super-Bundle in stock at Adorama (save $800)

 photo stock_zps2c6fd775.jpg

The last batch of super-discounted Zeiss Touit lenses is now in stock at Adorama here. Once it runs out of stock, I don’t think anyone will be able to grab the 32 and 12 Zeiss Touit lenses with the insane $800 discount. They are out of stock at BHphoto.

    1. I think it’s a fire sale to get out of the Fuji market. Their lens choices were odd anyway. The 50mm macro is likely due to previous obligations. If they were really committed to Fuji they’d have more variety offered or indicated/announced. They’ve had plenty of time over the last 2 years to talk about their roadmap or pre-announce (as most places do).

          1. We do not hear a thing about the upcoming Touit lenses either for Fuji or Sony.

So my guess is that Touit brand is kind of dead.

          2. Yup. Except the Zeiss sticker on the lens those lenses look pretty uninspiring to me.

  1. interesting. now B&H is out of stock. Seem there are still more supply from Zeiss. Will this deal affect Fuji’s lense price (14 & 35)?

  2. With these discounts even on the single 32mm 1.8 its so close to the 35mm from fuji. Which should I get? I’ve read many people say with all the firmware updates the 35 from fuji is much better than the zeiss.

    1. I think people are looking at the Zeiss logo and saying, “Finally! An affordable Zeiss lens!” and buying it without having a clear photographic need for it. And there are people who are new to the system or have clear needs who pounced on it because it is a good option.

Personally I passed. I have the Fuji 14 which is more than good enough for my needs and I find the 50mm 35mm equivalent view to be rather boring.

      1. agree – I read multiple reviews and comparison – it seems that 14mm is better than the 12mm zeiss, except may be at f.2.8 in the center.
I also have the 27mm 2.8 which is extremely sharp on X-T1. I will get the second generation of the 35mm probably, but comparisons already state that the current model is also better than the zeiss.
        And that rubber ring….
I’m not against Zeiss – in fact I have few of these for my NEX, but Fuji designed excellent optics. Kudos for Fuji!

        1. 14mm is optically better than 12mm but 12mm is wider.

When you crop 12mm to 14mm fov – they are similar in performance then.

          1. Kind of yes.
But I read lots of complains about the rubber ring – being too loose and it’s easy to rotate it accidentally.
            Both are excellent lenses though.

      2. pound for pound though – at the same price, which is the better option? the fuji gives me an extra stop of light at 1.4 though. with this deal i can get the zeiss for about $20 more than the fuji. ive read some really mixed reviews for the zeiss.

  3. only idiots buy this crap just for the name”Zeiss”, Touit series are crappy lousy products, nothing really comparable to the real Zeiss such as Otus and APO Sonnar.

      1. Deng just won the internet.
That said, these aren’t the amazing Zeiss lenses people have come to expect. They are however very good lenses, and amazing lenses for $460.
