I can confirm now that on April 17th Fuji will officially launch the 55-200mm lens and update the roadmap. You should definitely read Fujirumors that day!
thanks a lot for liking us on Facebook, following on Twitter and subscribing the RSS feed. Keep it up!
Now, the 55-200 is almost here. But there are 4 more lenses on Fuji’s “old” roadmap. Which one would you like to be released next?

I voted 56/1.4 but the other most wanted is 10-24/4 .
Ah yes a 10-24 is indeed a very nice one! I also voted for the 56, would love a nice autofocus portrait lens. Currently use the Samyang 85mm F1.4, which is a decent lens no doubt but manual focussing is not as nice as it could be on the X-pro1 unfortunately 🙁
I went for the 56 as well. It seems so practical. Then again, shooting at 10mm, with a cop value equivalent to 15mm, is prety intriguing.
Crop, that is…
I voted 23mm. You need a fast 35mm equivalent. It’s like all I shoot on my back-breaking DSLR.
Then get a x100s and you are done 🙂
Any news about price?
$699
Another lens, another filter thread… Why is there nobody able to design a lens line up with one filter size?!
Not that it will stop me from buying one! Especially if it’s really €699 😉
Step up rings solves the problem. Most of my filters are 77mm but i do have 2 circular polarizers, one 67 and the other 77mm. I have used a 58-67mm step up ring to fit the 67mm filter to my 58mm fuji zoom. I will likely use my 62-77 and 62-67mm step up ring as needed for the fuji telezoom and probably get a 62mm clear filter for the telezoom. I use a rarely use a clear filter, about 2 or 3x year when there is foul weather or kids with sticky fingers.
I’m pretty sure they will delay the 23mm release to promote the X100s instead.
I really hope they announce some X-Pro1 software improvements with this release.
Given there is no 2 anytime soon, really need X-Pro1 to bump up with x100s specs.
I suspect there will be some sort of firmware upgrade with the release of this lens as you mentioned. It seems in the past that the release of a new lens is accompanied by a firmware upgrade for the body to accommodate the capabilities of the new lens. Let’s hope they throw in some upgrades on the regular functionality of the body. If I can only choose one firmware update, it’s the auto ISO min. shutter speed. It will be especially relevant with a long zoom like this.
